  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Should Hospitals send everyone home on Saturdays?

Not sure in what setting you are asking this question. Is this speaking of society in general? Then of course the answer is "no". I do not believe it is society's responsibility to enforce a day of worship upon the citizens in general. It should respect individual convictions, but not...

Did Christ Become The Son Of God?

The official Seventh Day Adventist Statement from the 28 statements of belief: 2. Trinity: "There is one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, a unity of three co-eternal Persons. God is immortal, all-powerful, all-knowing, above all, and ever present. He is infinite and beyond human...

Could not refute God's Bible Sabbath from Romans 14 and Galatians 4

Agree -- they are not deleting God's commandments! We can read Romans 14 from beginning to end and the word commandments or God's law is never mentioned. It's talking about " doubtful disputations". What are doubtful disputations? Surely no one would call God's commandments "doubtful...

Could not refute God's Bible Sabbath from Romans 14 and Galatians 4

Wasn't it the Holy Spirit who was the inspiration behind the written word? Isn't He One with God Who spoke the commandments and wrote them with His own finger on stone? Isn't He the one that is to ingrain those commands into our hearts and minds -- write them there and make them part of our...

Is Jesus Enough? (What if we only had one Gospel?)

Maybe we should ask: "What do you understand as "the gospel"?" I've read several conflicting ideas in the posts above. Is the "gospel" only the "words Jesus spoke while walking the dusty roads of this earth? Is the gospel simply the story of His life while on earth? Or is the gospel the...

    Christian/7th Day Adventist Relationship Advice-Help!

From what was written I gather that your lady friend is very committed to her beliefs. It also seems that you view the keeping of the 7th day Sabbath and some of the health principles as "legalism". Most Adventists do not regard their Sabbath as legalism, but as a beautiful time to put aside...

The Full Spectrum of Christian Belief on Origins - where are you?

I tend to find myself somewhere between #3 and#4, yet not fully agreeing with either position. I do believe the Genesis account of earth's creation took place in six literal days about 6000 years ago. Yet there was history previous to those six days. Hosts of angels were already in...

    Faith alone?

"Faith is a deliberate and positve response to the good in another to the extent that I will act on his behalf in a personal and powerful way." (Philip Keller) This means the active, energetic giving of our best to another outside of and apart of ourselves. As we behold the matchless love of...

    The Sanctuary Study

Comparing them to the four gospels is interesting, but why not look at scripture itself to find out what these flags may have stood for? In the heavenly sanctuary which is depicted in Revelation 4 and 5 we see four living creatures. Revelation 4:7 And the first living creature was like...

    Faith alone?

Faith -- probably the most misunderstood word in Christianity today!!! Many people think obedience and faith are opposites. They are not. The word faith and faithful come from the same linguistic root. By faith God's people are faithful! FAITH reveals itself in faithful action. Look at...

    Adventist Pastor Reviews His Faith--Sanctuary

Daniel 8 -- I think you've been reading too much of Cottrel's writings. There is a key thread of thought that is missing and maybe if I explain it you might yet change from your decision. When Adventists first discovered the meaning of Daniel 8 in the heavenly sanctuary setting, they...

    Adventist Pastor Reviews His Faith--Sanctuary

Personally I think we allow our limited understanding of place and making things that so literal that we go to far the other way and make things not literal enough. Firstly what does scripture say about God's throne? Is it a stationary throne or is "his throne like the fiery flame, and his...

    Adventist Pastor Reviews His Faith--Sanctuary

There are SOOO many questions here, and I've only read about a dozen of the pages. I'd like to share a few things if I may. I noticed a discussion on Rev. 11 the first verses. I have found this portion very interesting and I hope these thoughts will be helpful. To understand we must go...

    10 Commandments

Penticost is a Jewish festival which occurs 50 days after Passover. In the Old Testament it is called the "Feast of Harvest" and the "feast of weeks". It is also called the "closing season of the Passover". ""And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that ye...

    10 Commandments

Each website is some person's opinion as to how to look at evidence, and reflects upon their own world view. Their information is informative however I tend to incorporate things into my own world view which puts different interpretations on some things. My world view takes into account...
