  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Prayer request for my wife and myself... Persecution...

Brothers and Sisters, God's already showering grace on us in ways we don't deserve... We have a VERY expensive vehicle repair to our only recently working vehicle, my truck, that we need for work... A family member in the auto business, but not mechanics (body men) have been able to set us up...

Prayer request for my wife and myself... Persecution...

Nowhere near the level so many endure, but my wife is enduring persecution at work. Her coworkers are to the last person atheist or muslim, and she is standing for Christ in this troubled place, there is an awful lot of harassment they are heaping on her, combined with some recent physical...

    Answered Prayers (2)

The last few weeks the Lord has done amazing works in the life of my family. My brother in law, whom my wife and I have been caring for since he fell ill due to kidney failure is well and finally going to be starting a job on Monday! My wife, who believes deep in her soul that the Lord paved the...

    If I divorced my wife

My prayer for you is that you and she will always seek common ground. May you make friends with people that have had divorce impact their lives and are wiling to be honest with you, and your wife about it. If you knew the scars that divorce leaves in everyone around it, you'd want to steer...

    Do women really come back?

All I can say is I have been in your shoes, and watched as my ex moved on before she left my door. If there is a third party involved that isn't God, chances are NOT good that she will repent. You mentioned she is in the world, as in not a believer. The good part there is you aren't bound to her...

    Stressed out, need prayer BAD!

Those familiar with me here know the story, so I will go into it in brief. My wife and I have gone in the last 4 years to newlywed 2 income, no kids, to single income taking care of her brother, who is on disability due to kidney failure / dialysis and subsequent transplant surgery. The...

    Any other Christian Woodworkers here?

I am not talking about professionals, cabinet makers or trim folks or the like, but woodworking hobbyists. I am one of those sawdust making nutcases, and would love to connect with my fellow Christian Woodworkers, for discussion of how to mix faith, outreach, and sawdust and come up with...

Hurtful words from the well intentioned.

Wow, talk about a blast from the past. To see this thread still going is a bit of a stunner... My wife and I have been married now almost 4 years, and she's a real blessing in my life. I finally know what it's like to be really married to someone that loves, and respects the Lord, and me...

A non Catholic's question about Catholic Clergy.

Greetings. I am hoping you fine folks can answer an etiquette question that has bothered me for a very long time. You see, I am not Catholic, but other members of the family are. (I consider myself a non denominational Christian, but if I had to state any denomination, I would say Baptist...)...

Representing the faith to a Muslim lady.

We had an interesting experience yesterday. I took my wife to the Dr. office yesterday, where she was seen by a specialist she hadn't been to before. The doctor was a Muslim woman I am guessing because she was wearing a Hijab. Our visit was good, and medically she seemed spot on. However the...

    Will all Christian Husbands Cheat?

My heart goes out to you in this painful time. I did want to reassure you that not all Christian men are unfaithful, in very much the same way that not all Christian women are unfaithful. My ex wife who claims to be a Christian woman left me for the man she married afterwards. (By my previous...

The Man Cave concept ~ Men especially, please comment...

I am not sure how to respond. I am a helpless hobby woodworker and DIY enthusiast. I swear it is genetic. I grew up watching my Dad, uncles, and even my grandfather in their workshops... I just don't have a basement to use (water table is too high here on the coast). While the space is...

    Fake wedding cake trend?

We spent a pretty penny on our cakes (Here in the south we have a tradition of both a Brides and a Grooms cake). If we had gotten more help from family we could have saved a ton of money on the cake.
