  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Headcovering

This is long, but is the best discourse I have yet found on the issue of headcoverings. I highly commend it to your consideration: http://www.entrewave.com/view/reformedonline/Headcoverings%20in%20Public%20Worship2.htm

    Question: John 6

The great conundrum is that if John 6 is to be taken quite literally, one must be eating literal flesh and blood. As has been pointed out in other threads here, much current theology revolving around the doctrine of transubstantiation takes an Aristotelian view of the bread and wine such that...

    Regulative principle of worship

Thank you for your concession that the technology did, indeed, exist to heat large spaces of public gathering. Thank you also for providing evidence that some meetinghouses were heated. I certainly now concede that unheated meetinghouses were de rigeur. However, the apparent fact remains that...

Spencer W. Kimball was a false prophet.

Not at all. Many of us here most certainly do not have the slightest evidence the president of the cojcolds holds "the keys" other than that he claims to have them and the members of his church make the same assertion. When actual evidence of these keys can be produced then those of us on the...

    Regulative principle of worship

I am probably exceedingly thick about this matter, but I failed to find a single word in your post concerning the issue of congregational singing. Mr. Gill spends his entire argument proving that the texts address the exclusive singing of Psalms. He, like others, may assume that congregational...
