  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I believe she called him? But even if he did not initiate the call he took it and then she tweeted about it... It sends a message to China and I don't actually mind. The concern expressed is does he understand how China views this - I assume he does and did at the time but I have no reason to...

should Christians support people's right to sin?

OK - so I do not support "right to sin", that would be hateful! However I do grant the latitude to sin without civil consequence. Personally I avail myself of this too often and I've noticed others do it too. Everyone sins, if we employed civil authority to detect, prosecute and penalize all...

    Obama extends support for protesters

My reference point is AIG... my mother-in-law had her life savings in an AIG annuity. If she had been returned pennies on the dollar she would be living with us right now. Then again, I'm not sure WE would be working and still have a house either. If the financial institutions had all...
