  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Faith and Mental Flexibility (A Metaphorical Way that Faith can Move a “Mountain”)

Thanks for sharing. Yes, confidence is a big part of faith, although a confidence that is aided by a deeper Source (God) than personal ego. And mountain climbing reminds us that we have those hidden, unknown, potentials that can become actualized with a little faith. That really is what my multi...

Most of Jesus' Teaching is Psychological in Nature

Brendan, I really liked this inner work focus. I believe that the “God” the founders of our religion discovered was Mind, rooted in philosophical “Idealism.” Mind as ultimate reality. If philosophical Idealism is correct, then inner work (working first with one’s own mind, little mind, in order...

Faith and Mental Flexibility (A Metaphorical Way that Faith can Move a “Mountain”)

Lyrics to Tend the Fire: Tend the Fire Too long is the road to find yourself if you lose yourself in the frantic steps you take, even though you ache for something real to feel that you would hold onto. It may not occur to you what’s really worth holding onto, but there’s...

Faith and Mental Flexibility (A Metaphorical Way that Faith can Move a “Mountain”)

Hi linex poet, Not Mt Russell, Capital Peak, Co. Where is Mt Russell? Sounds like you and I had similar challenges/experiences. Yes older age slowed me down. Plus I had a chronic acid reflux situation that somehow seemed to interfere with breathing. Better now, but sure didn’t need any...

Why has Christianity failed in America?

Daniel: “There's a book that may be of interest to you, called "Has American Christianity Failed?" by Bryan Wolfmueller.” I’ll have to check that out to see if decline attributed to mission drift or trying to pull the arrow of time/evolution out instead of pushing it on through to a deeper...

Why has Christianity failed in America?

No. SOURCE or ROOTS of morality, “glad heart”, in spirit. My calling is to bring three ideas up for a “vote” within this site and within the larger Christian community: 1. Christianity needs to SERVE “true spirituality”. “True” can be somewhat operationally defined by: a. That which...

Why has Christianity failed in America?

I think Jesus was trying to point us to our (each of us) Sonship, natural connection to Spirit/God, as a means of healing our lack of wholeness. A savior by means of teaching, showing, empowering. Inside out inspiration.

Why has Christianity failed in America?

Glad we are leaning the same way. I’ll lean into contemplatively awhile, and (maybe) say more before too long. Christ in, Darrell

Why has Christianity failed in America?

The reason we need to untangle spirituality and religion is that a new, deeper, understanding and connection will emerge and become enfleshed if we don’t allow the various God-in-a-box “disasters” of the Traditional era to get in the way. Christianity is a viable vehicle for spiritual growth, as...

Why has Christianity failed in America?

Aaron and Timewerx, Again, I think we need to be careful to untangle true spirituality from religion

Is it strange that Fox News and the Daily wire say Hunter is the son of the president?

Simply negative branding, conditioning folks to think guilt by association.

Why has Christianity failed in America?

Daniel, Some very good insights (in my opinion) about worldliness taking over. Yes, there is some quenching of our modern world’s thirst for something more genuine than the superficialities of a highly consumeristic society. But I don’t think the superficial worldliness can be solely...

Faith and Mental Flexibility (A Metaphorical Way that Faith can Move a “Mountain”)

Do we sometimes conflate ego and confidence? To our detriment? Can a person be both confident AND humble? I say “yes”. If the confidence comes from a Deeper place, a God zone where we realize we are interconnected, Children of God.
