  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is sin the reason for one's damnation or not?

OK.. I see you checked out Janxharris. It is late, so I will check out too. But I am still at a loss to what you actually meant with your last response in regards to Isaiah 6:9,10.... It appears what you are saying is that if one has not fallen into judgement (as shown in Isaiah 6:9,10), then...

Is sin the reason for one's damnation or not?

Again, I am not following you since you are not giving the quote nor explaining yourself... Willing to respond but now I have to go read and guess what you are saying. Can you explain your thought here. .

Is sin the reason for one's damnation or not?

Well, what we do know about Judas is what Jesus revealed to us in his heavenly prayer to the Father before His death on the cross... John 17:12 states: "While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have guarded them, and not one of them has been lost except the...

Is sin the reason for one's damnation or not?

Actually no... Check out when Steven is being stoned to death by the pharisees... What does he say in Act 7:51: “You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so do you." Now listen to what Jeremiah said about 'the...

Is sin the reason for one's damnation or not?

Basically to reveal to Nicodemus that he is in need of a rebirth (heart receptive to spiritually truths) or he will die in his sin. Jesus does this same thing to the Pharisees throughout his ministry. .

Is sin the reason for one's damnation or not?

Umm... Jn 3:12-13 not only comes before 14-16, it is pretty explicit.

Is sin the reason for one's damnation or not?

Hey guys, maybe the preceding verses, John 3:12-13, will shed some light.... In verse 12 Jesus says, “If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things?” IOW, Jesus is telling Nicodemus spiritual things he is incapable of...

    Does James dissect the Law?

Sophrosyne.... please bro. I just told you that we are not under the Mosaic Law. If you read the WHOLE CONTEXT, the point was being made that we are under the law in the sense that Jesus has FULFILLED IT. Since we are under Christ we are NOW under the Law of Christ. Do you want to respond to...

    Does James dissect the Law?

I did not say we are under the Mosaic law. Quit being so defensive and read what I said. .

    Does James dissect the Law?

In a sense we are under the 'law'. Scripture says true Christians are now under the 'LAW OF CHRIST' (1 Cor 9:21; Gal 6:2)... IOW, those who are born of God have the 'mind of Christ'. Thus, the true Chrsitian will have the Spirit of Christ convicting him daily of what God loves and doesn't love...

why repent if nothing is sin?

Actually, Christians are under a new law, The Law of Christ. Our motivation not to sin any longer doesn't come from a list of do's and dont's, it comes from our love for God and what Christ has done for us. Thus the commands to love, forgive, repent daily, sacrifice, etc..... The beatitudes are...

    Does Matthew 12:32 prove "Purgatory"?

It is basically a forceful way of saying NEVER. There will be a time when ALL will bow down the knee in the next age, but not all will be saved.

    Does Matthew 12:32 prove "Purgatory"?

Where do you see "in the world to come" in that passage? Actually it says all sins will be forgiven except one. In other parts of scripture we know that the moment you have faith, your sins ARE FORGIVEN (present tense). Only ONE sin cannot be forgiven, and that is calling the work of the Holy...
