  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Would you support this law?

    No and No....

I did not create my children - apart from supplying the seed, they were created by God in my wife's womb...an amazing process! No, I am not God, so I don't deserve glory and I did not create my children - God designed and created the mechanics for me and my kids to exist. Don't think so...

There is no contradiction here. Remember, I am referring to a relationship between God and a creature He created, not a relationship between two created beings (ie. human love). God's glory would be a prominent feature of this loving relationship. The creature in love and awe of it's Creator and...

Guys, I am not making massive revolutionary claims here that I have to 'back up' - this is a forum...not some academic journal publication... For me, this has to do with the nature of a true relationship. You cannot have a mutually loving relationship with a robot - the robot will ONLY do...

When the thing that has been designed can genuinely make its own choices...

    Interesting

The robot analogy is very limited - we can never create a robot that truly has 'free will'. It can only make choices based on the way it is programmed. One of the unique features of humanity is this attribute of 'free will'. We do not have the ability to create something with genuine 'free...

The robot vacuum cleaner does not have 'free will'-just preprogrammed responses. This is why it is called a robot. This vacuum cleaner never makes a true decision-every vacuum cleaner will respond in the way it is programmed by the designer to any situation. Humans are not robots and can make...

    Interesting

The suggestion that a created being could 'condemn' their Creator is absurd to me. As stated in the other thread, God created mankind with the free-will and capacity for both good and bad - if there were no capacity for good and bad, there would be no free-will. It went bad and still is - he...

    What would you say?

What kind of human being permits this?!!!! This atrocity was committed being by a person, NOT God - I am stunned that you cannot see this!! How do you explain your outcry against the 'evil' act committed by a man in the absence of God - you have no moral barometer to judge it as 'evil' and no...

    What would you say?

I've been away from this thread for a few days as I really can't see where you going with this. Are you referring to the kids murdered by Hitler? How is that God's fault?! If you want God to intervene in this, where should it stop? Should he intervene every time a baby is murdered in the womb...

    What would you say?

OK, so you clearly can't help at all in explaining the existence of 'evil' in our world. It's all very well nit-picking what Christians believe - it would be nice if you could share your ideas...

    What would you say?

Your describing the same thing with different terms. If I'm locked in a prison cell I have a limited amount and freedom and a limited amount of free-will - if I'm not in prison, I have a greater amount of both - there is no difference.

    What would you say?

This whole thread is about answering the question. I have no problem explaining good and evil - I refer to Jesus Christ as the barometer and judge of good and evil. Just because you don't like the answer doesn't mean I haven't attempted to answer it. Maybe you could enlighten me with...

    What would you say?

I'm glad you believe there is an abundance of 'evil' in the world - on what basis do you decide whether something is 'evil'?

    What would you say?

Sounds like a riddle! So...what is the difference? Maybe an example would help as I'm still no clearer...
