  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

This looks like another doctrine of the church fathers, many of whom held women subordinate to men. It's changed in the Greek, then later in the Latin, like a progressive status downgrade. Judaism holds men and women equal, but having different roles. Since "God is One" I believe the Ruach, as...

I would say it is you who needs to educate yourself. That IS history!

The Messianic was the first congregation

Clement of Alexandria- All the churches were Greek religious colonies. Their language was Greek, their organization Greek, their writers Greek and their ritual Greek. Thus the church at Rome was but one of a confederation of Greek religious republics rounded by Christianity”. He, a church...

The Messianic was the first congregation

Not disagreeing with your analogy here, just curious about one thing. Since the scripture you quote says "seven stars are the angels of the seven churches" why do you break the two down as the underlined above? Stars always represent people, yes; however the pastor/rabbi/leader would be a...

    What really are Stars?

Yes, I did. And he did Really? You are fast going past the limits of credulity here. But no, and please do not try to lay that charge at my feet. Paul said this in specific instances. But as a shaliach tzibur, a representative of that early assembly he spoke with the authority of and at the...

    What really are Stars?

I thought my point was pretty clear. And homogenous or not, I'd still expect some Cretans to be worse, and some better than others. As to the Romans, they were fighting wars in the west, and insurrections in the east supported by nations that bordered Roman held territories. So they did not...

    What really are Stars?

So the Bible, and by extension God is lieing? This can never be, so there must be another explanation. Luke 2:1 In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. "All the world?" So the American Indians were registered by Roman decree? No. Even in...

    What really are Stars?

For some reason it cut off most of your post, and won't load it for me. Probably me, since I am sure computers were put on the earth specifically to test my resolve not to cuss. But I'll answer what is there: No, that does not logically follow. He may or may not agree with everything said in...

    What really are Stars?

Mentioning part does not imply agreement with the whole. Furthermore, the Temple being in place 1st cen authors would have had access to a much larger library which may have included even more segments of the original than found at Qumran. Fair enough. I posted my opinion, labeling it as such...

    What really are Stars?

I thought I had replied to Lulav earlier, but I must have messed up and not got it. Hope this goes better as my reply will apply to both. Yes. There is of course some argument, but Job is thought by most (and I agree with you both) to predate the written Torah by many years. So might the...

    What really are Stars?

Enoch- I am going to guess there are a few threads here about that book. It is pseudepigrapha; part of the Jewish apocryphal tradition which thrived in the centuries just before and after Yeshua. In particular it thrived after the fall of the Temple in 70 AD. You say it predates Torah. There...

    What really are Stars?

You're getting a little bit confusing here. The Torah, our Instruction, is the name applied to the first five books of the Bible. You are changing it to mean only what was given at Sinai. You can't just change the definition to suit you. Now when you say the Kethubah was given at Sinai, we could...

Bullet-proof glass, guards: U.S. election offices tighten security for Nov. 8 midterms

It came up, so I responded. Didn't check the date. You put up one incident like it and somehow that equates to the 4 1/2 yrs of insanity and attacks we endured? To respond adequately to that, I would be (and should be, "if") banned. So I'll leave it to others who read this to make up their own...

Bullet-proof glass, guards: U.S. election offices tighten security for Nov. 8 midterms

Election facilities was the cover. Thge real topic of your post was "It is all Trump's fault- he and his supporters. So don't look at the radical agenda of the left being perpetrated by the current administration." The same old song the left has been singing since the Clintons and before. I am...

Bullet-proof glass, guards: U.S. election offices tighten security for Nov. 8 midterms

Well, I am happy you are glad. But your sources still just cite left wing fears and blame Trump, one saying "since former President Donald Trump’s sustained attack on democracy." Foolish to believe that, since all the attacks I listed were real and perpetrated on right leaning people! Yours are...
