  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

An Evil God; An Evil World

I haven't discovered a new religion and I'm not "creating". I've studied over 60 religions and have learned a lot about Mans' experience of life, fear, freedom, mortality, insecurity, love, divinity, and hope. Jesus Christ saved us from mythology, from theology, from idealism. Through his...

Yes. Which version do you accept? And by accepting, which versions do you reject?

An Evil God; An Evil World

(Can't post a link) My experience with pagan religion has taught me a great deal that Christian Theology never could. First, that God is not in opposition to the universe. Reality does not contradict God and we are not opposite in nature from our Lord the Creator. It has taught me that our...

I'm not accusing him of lying. I could be in translation. I cannot read arabic, so I depend upon English Translations. It's the same reason we have problems with the Bible.

What better way to save them? Logic tells me that you are correct. They hate Gods' Anarchy, Free Will. So they love strictness and the idolatry of law. Fine. They deserve salvation too. However, when a man comes at you with a knife, a gun, a plane, a hostage, an IED, an anthrax napkin, then you...

An argument against (the usual concept of) God

I am a student of logic and your logic is brilliant here. And, I get your point. So when I disagree with you, I don't want you to feel that your clever analysis was unappreciated. The problem with your first premise is that you seem to assume that all knowledge is either visceral or deductive...

Hence my dedication to convincing everyone I meet to resent paying for the cushy lifestyles of federal employees.

    a question about terminology?

My wife is insanely literal. If I told her that she was a chocolate-harlot, she'd hear, "You sell yourself out sexually to chocolate". Or, she'd think that she was being accused of being a harlot that looked like chocolate. I am sarcastic/general/descriptive. I use non-literal language all the...

Your either approve of murder or killing.

After Jesus died Jews were still persecuted. Christians were slaughtered. Jesus didn't bring peace. He brought the sword.

Is evil the abscence of Good

I know a lot of people LOVE Augustine. Why, I'll never understand. He essentially corrupted Christianity with Platonic Idealism/Rationalism, setting Christians against the reality the Lord created. Augustine hated reality and he used deduction (in the form of syllogism) to disprove reality...

"SEX" vs Romance & Spirit Led Intimacy

This is maybe the first intelligent discussion on this topic I've ever heard or read. Kudos. What I like most is that no one is trying to figure out which acts are degrading and which acts are honorable. There is a subjectivity to honor that must be objectively respected. First, sexual activity...

Witnessing to Muslims What Is The Key?

I wouldn't go with the forgiveness of sins route. Not everyone is afraid of hell, nor will they be convinced through fear of eternity without a God they don't know. It's the personal relationship with God that Christ made possible for us and it is relationship with us God wants. That's what I'd...

    An essay concerning political efficacy...

It's more complicated than that. You've got to be efficient. Waste and corruption are primary reasons why most Americans disrespect their government and their country. And efficiency is something all Americans should be able to get behind.
