  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'll stick with the theological clarity seen through the lens of Reformation Theology.

How do Protestants feel about Martin Luther?

Right, nobody else does that. Consider actually looking towards the direction theologians are pointing rather than at them. Your perspective is totally religious and man centered.

How do Protestants feel about Martin Luther?

Consider: Religion is chiefly the study of a certain kind of human behavior, be it under the rubric of anthropology, sociology, or psychology. The study of Theology, on the other hand, is the study of God. Religion is anthropocentric; theology is theocentric. The difference between religion and...

How do Protestants feel about Martin Luther?

In case anyone is interested in the actual Reformation and what led up to it: "Pelagianism was condemned. Six years after the council of Carthage a general council of African Churches reaffirmed the anathemas of 412 AD. Zosimus sided with Pelagius in 412, he wrote a letter condemning the...

How do Protestants feel about Martin Luther?

I agree. It is like us Presbyterians, the PCUSA is so liberal that it hasn't anything really in common with Presbyterians other than its form of church government. Some of the Lutherans I read from on this board make me want to vomit in my mouth. There are some though that I respect, but if...

How do Protestants feel about Martin Luther?

Whenever the devil harasses you, seek the company of men or drink more, or joke and talk nonsense, or do some other merry thing. Sometimes we must drink more, sport, recreate ourselves, and even sin a little to spite the devil, so that we leave him no place for troubling our consciences with...

Are we all slaves of God or a creation?

In our natural state we are all slaves to Sin John 8:34. The regenerate man is considered a slave to God, as Biblical greats considered themselves Romans 1:1; Titus 1:1; James 1:1.
