    "Religulous" why?

Heads up, this is from a Christian perspetive. Why do people feel the need to make mock-umentaries about anything they don't agree with? If you don't agree with a religion that is fine, but why make a one-sided "documentary" to try and convince people that their religion is wrong...

I will probably screen it before the midnight show. I am excited.

I would urge fellow Christians to check this out.

I would urge fellow Christians to check the site out entitled hollywoodandgod.com and see what it is about. Basically it is saying that any movie that blasphemes the name of God, e.g. "Oh my G-d!", "G-d ****", "Jesus!" etc. is unacceptable. The idea is that we as Christians should stop paying...

    blasphemy in entertainment

I share the same opinion. Of course, couldn't you make the argument that violence (ex: seeing on-screen murder although acted), illegitimate sex, etc. would produce the same effect? All of those are just as offensive to Him as taking His name in vain as there are no varying levels of sin...

    blasphemy in entertainment

I have fortunately never had to witness real violence. I would take your word on it that real violence makes movies look like nothing in comparison. As far as directors choosing what they want to have the actors say in films, of course that will not change. Unless they have personal beliefs...

    blasphemy in entertainment

Here are my thoughts on violence, sex and language in films: Violence in most films is acted out. There is no real life murder in them (I hope not at least). Nowhere in Scripture does it say "don't act out violence or murder for this is abominable to the Lord". Is the violence desired in the...

    blasphemy in entertainment

imdb.com's parental advisory section says that they do it as least 3 or 4 times, as well as 4-5 times for God. Also, pluggedinonline.com says the same thing. Just go to "The Dark Knight" review on pluggedinonline.com and scroll down to the language or profanity section. For imdb.com there is...

    blasphemy in entertainment

If I have headphones in, I am the only one going to be hearing the music. That being the case, if anyone said anything to me about it I would ignore them and continue what I was doing. What I do in an auditorium is nobody else's business, as long as I am not being loud, shining light...

    blasphemy in entertainment

What are your thoughts on the subject? I am pretty strict on it; if God or Jesus' name is taken in vain in a video game, a song, a book (only exception is if a reading assignment is given in one of my classes), or a movie I will have no part in it. Recently I decided I would not be seeing "The...

From a Christian perspective, is the following blasphemy? (Moved)

That is how I look at it. An example in entertainement: very rarely, if ever does someone reverently call out to G-d in a situation of surprise or shock. It is almost always a vain exclamatory response. That being the case about any time I hear it I consider it a vain reference.

From a Christian perspective, is the following blasphemy? (Moved)

If someone were to see something they thought were terribly bad, such as on the news where a large amount of people were killed due to something like an earthquake, would you consider them saying "my God" or "oh my God" blasphemy? This is opposed to if someone were to say this in frustration...

    Impressed by Iron Man movie.

The Iron Man movie managed to be an incredible film that kept adult content to a minimum, something that is rarely seen in movies today. The only material I disapproved of was at almost the very beginning, there some some partial nudity/implied sex for about 15 seconds and about 30 seconds...
