  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Possible Nuclear Meltdown in Japan

I have been following the news since Thursday evening. Now that the quake and tsunamis have "faded away", they say that there is possible danger of nuclear meltdowns in Japan (and maybe even explosion). Please pray for the people in Japan. It is bad enough that their country is devastated by...

Tsunami hit Japan! I don't know yet if my relatives are alive...

I've been following the news about the tsunami since last night and my heart goes out to the people in Japan. I can't imagine what you must be going through right now, Almond Joy. *hugs you* I'll keep you and your relatives in my prayers and thoughts.

    My brother.

awakemysoul, I do sympathize with your case and hope that God will intervene on your behalf and give you peace and direction. Here's what the scripture has to say about conflicts in general: "If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he...

Jesus told me who I am going to marry?

Your situation is intriguing enough but if I were you, dear Ali, I probably wouldn't worry about it until the guy actually proposed to me with the ring.

Does preknowledge of sin = creating sin?

If you find my definition of "omniscience" unbiblical, then do please tell me how your own definition is more biblical than mine? And yes, I believe that God knew me intimately before I was even born. Before He created me in my mother's womb, I believe that God knew me and loved me. Here are...

    Prayers for my friends

Thank you everyone for your prayers! May God bless you and keep you. :)

Does preknowledge of sin = creating sin?

Then your post rejects the fundamental attribute of God: His omniscience. I believe that even before the creation of the world, God knew me intimately and was aware that I'd be saved one day. He gave me the option to choose while He already knew the end result. But certainly, God giving me...

    You Might Be a Heretic

Then there must have been a misunderstanding on my part about the heretic reference. My apologies.

    You Might Be a Heretic

I was referring to the person who posted above you. Apparently, the system did not allow me to quote his post because it had too many links. He said that not baptizing infants is a heresy. I was merely disagreeing with his point.

    You Might Be a Heretic

According to some of your views and beliefs, I think I now have been condemned as a heretic (for the first time in my life, actually). I'm a Protestant and I do not agree with the idea of baptizing infants because babies do not have conscious awareness of God and sin yet. I think that infants...

Losing your salvation, what does this entail Scripturally?

But where in the scripture does it state that God's wrath is different for the non-believers than the former believers? Does His grace extend not to the Jews as well as the Gentiles? In the same way, I'd think that anyone who experiences loss of salvation, whether claiming to be formerly...

Does preknowledge of sin = creating sin?

Thank you for your reply, Oneofchrists. The concept of God giving freewill to humanity is certainly not new. I also believe that God gave us the will and ability to choose. However, if the end result of disobeying God (sin) was not created by God, how else then would sin even come to be? If...

Losing your salvation, what does this entail Scripturally?

heymikey80, I think Romans 8:39 and 2 Timothy 2:13 are not the correct versus for the viewpoints which tomarnold initially asked for. 2 Timothy 2:13 says, "If we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot deny himself". This means that God wouldn't deny us, even though we may deny...

Does preknowledge of sin = creating sin?

I just had a glimpse of another person's thread and what struck me as interesting was the notion that sin might have been created by God. While God does not sin (and never have) it is nearly impossible to say that something existed, or was created, outside of God's plan. Now, here's the...

    Suggest a book for me?

Manly Dominion or Womanly Dominion by Mark Chanski. He gives pretty good insight on how modern Christian men and women should live. These two books of his explore the extent to which our society's mores clash with the Biblical principles. I highly recommend them if you are also into learning...
