  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Drinking completely wrong?

I work in the recovery community and I can tell you that alcohol can destroys lives and can take away people's health, minds and sense of self. Yes, if you can, if there is no history of alcoholism in your family, if you are not using it to make yourself more than you are, go for it, have a...

What was your first fall out with mainstream Christianity?

I think becoming involved in the recovery community went a long way to me "losing my religion" Man, when you walk into a dorm room at a treatement centre and see a man that most people would write off as street trash kneeling beside his bed in prayer.... or watching that same man and countless...

    Narnia

I love the books!! Actually, Voyage of the Dawn Treader has always been my favorite of the chronicles:thumbsup: I also loved the movie! I felt that they did a really good job on it even though much was left out. When I was little, oh how I used to fantasize about finding Narnia in closets and...

    Communication

Hi Chaz:wave: If you look back to the op, you will find that there is not a statement that says "that a women's way of communication is inherently better." I do not agree with that at all and have never stated that. Some people may have read that into the op but it was not stated nor intended. I...

    Communication

Actually, I find it interesting that people are finding this "generalization" a negative. It was not said to me in a negative manner, more in a "I am a male and acknowledge and am aware of what can be a shortcoming." This friend of mine is very secure in who he is, who his wife is and how he...

    Communication
