  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Where are the current ripples from Noah's Flood?

I think we should not quibble about words on social forums. All I am saying is that the local flood was presented as a global flood. Whether we call it glorification or not is not relevant.

Where are the current ripples from Noah's Flood?

The fact that it is unevidenced does not mean that it was false. All I am saying is that the geographical descriptions in the Bible can be read as a local flood. And that would make more sense than thinking about a global flood. I agree with you that it could be a wildly exaggerated story or...

Where are the current ripples from Noah's Flood?

Yes, I am saying clearly that there was no global flood. In fact, there is not enough water in the ice caps to raise the level of sea to submerge the mountains.

Where are the current ripples from Noah's Flood?

By glorification, I mean a local flood was glorified as a global flood.

Where are the current ripples from Noah's Flood?

Floods happen, so that is not fiction. What is fiction is its glorification as a global flood.

Where are the current ripples from Noah's Flood?

Glorification is done by portraying the event as true. If it is said that we are glorifying, then the glorification itself is canceled. So, when the people said it was a huge flood, that glorified the flood story. And the story is essentially correct. The only thing is that glorifying it as a...

Where are the current ripples from Noah's Flood?

Yes, it is possible that there was a global flood as well as there was a local flood. Of the two, we have to choose one that is consistent with science, which is the local flood. So, what happens in my assessment is that there was a local flood, but this particular local flood brought forth a...

Where are the current ripples from Noah's Flood?

We cannot ignore the Hebrew text because the Bible, as available to us, is in Hebrew. Let us not confuse Jacobean English with Hebrew, we should focus on the Hebrew text and take English translations later.

Where are the current ripples from Noah's Flood?

If we read the Bible with science, theology backed by science is even stronger than theology without science.

Where are the current ripples from Noah's Flood?

God first told of his intention to bring a Flood: “I am about to bring floodwaters on the land to destroy from under the visible sky the living creatures that have the breath of life in them. Everything that is in the land will die” (Bible, Genesis 6:17). The conventional translation of this...

Where are the current ripples from Noah's Flood?

Actually, the Bible is credible. Only the reading is non-credible. If we take alternative meanings that are consistent with science, then the Bible becomes credible.

I agree that they first misread the Bible and then they do bad science.

Where are the current ripples from Noah's Flood?

I have not seen any credible evidence other than the biblical references about a global flood. So, if we read the Bible carefully, there is no global flood. All it says is that the flood waters were as far as one can see. So, this can be a local flood.
