    The Great Pants Debate

28 pages before I enter a modesty thread has to be a record. I think the Hepburn picture is a good example of how women can modestly wear pants. It shows her feminine figure (high waist calls attention to your waist, skims over the hips instead of clinging to them, etc) without bring...

Should Women Cover Their Heads in Church?

I've worn a mantillas, head scarves, headbands, etc. in just about every kind of church, and I have never gotten a strange look or comment. And, I don't think anyone ever treated me different for it. I just don't think people are spending that much time taking in what other people are wearing...

Public Breast Feeding (routine debate overdue thread I)

So, a woman still has to use a blanket even if she can breastfeed without one and not expose her breast? Honestly, I have never seen a woman that was breastfeeding in public expose a noticable part of her breast. They have tops specifically designed to cover the breast and still allow for...

Public Breast Feeding (routine debate overdue thread I)

You do realize that most women that breastfeed in public don't pop out their whole breast right? Most of them can breastfeed without showing any breast at all.

Public Breast Feeding (routine debate overdue thread I)

Why should a woman be forced to breastfeed in a car when she can do it at a table, store, etc. without showing any breast (and even if a bit is show it is still slight compared to the amount of breast shown by the average immodest outfit)? My son wouldn't take a pacifier. Some babies won't...

Public Breast Feeding (routine debate overdue thread I)

Changing a dirty diaper on a dining room table is a sanitary issue. Breastfeeding in public is not a sanitary issue. Like I have said repeatedly, most women that breastfeed in public do so without showing any breast.

Public Breast Feeding (routine debate overdue thread I)

Did you watch the video? There wasn't a single breast shown, and most women that regularly breastfeed in public never show a breast doing it.

Public Breast Feeding (routine debate overdue thread I)

I think the problem with these discussions is that people are picturing an entire breast hanging out, and a woman parading around drawing attention to herself. Most women I know that nurse in public do it in a manner that you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a sleeping baby...

Cardinal: Stay-at-Home Moms Need to Be Paid

That's pretty much what I was trying to get at. You said it so much better :)

Cardinal: Stay-at-Home Moms Need to Be Paid

I like the idea of making the job place more family friendly. But, I don't need nor want to be paid to be a stay at home mom. I don't think you can put a price on being a stay at home mom (nor can the benefits truly ever be fully expressed) That, and that kind of "payment" normally comes with...

    Another Business Discriminates on Religion

She worked in the stockroom. I know when I worked at the Gap stock employees weren't seen by customers and they didn't have to follow the dress code of the salespeople. Imagine if they fired her for wearing a cross?

What's the worst book you've ever read?

Shannon, I hope I didn't turn you off Flannery with Wiseblood alone. Her short stories are much better than Wiseblood. I'm not a Toni Morrison fan either. The worst book I've ever read (at least that is counted as "literature") was 100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez. Long...

Exhibition on John Paul II’s suffering opens at the Vatican

Where did I say you didn't understand mortification? I said no matter what you think of mortification what you said was wrong. Let's look at it from a different view. What if someone on here said that God gave Kennedy cancer so that he wouldn't be able to be a senator anymore (since the...

Exhibition on John Paul II’s suffering opens at the Vatican

That's a horrible thing to say no matter what you think of mortification. Sounds like someone needs to pick up Job and learn a thing or two about the mistaskes Job's friends made.
