  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Pope backs same sex unions

When I first heard about it, I was kinda surprised that Pope went on to actually give such a definite stance on the issue. I always kinda wondered - is it better to keep denying a struggling homosexual christians a marriage and hence indirectly leading them to a promiscuous life styles (it's...

Trump Takes Aim at Google, Claims Search Results ‘RIGGED’ Against Him

Wow you guys from across the big pond really seem to be obsessed with this Trump. As a person with zero interest in us politics, the whole deal about this guy sounds like an overrated soap opera... "Trump did this", "Trump did that"... Just so people have something to discuss over a beer at a...

    Who really goes to Hell?

But what if they technically met Him before, such as person A, through the missionary? If that was the case, and if they just went to Hell right after, to me it feels like the whole idea of missionary would sound somewhat counterproductive, since realistically the part of people who actually...

    Who really goes to Hell?

There's this idea that boggles my mind for quite a while and I'd like to hear your opinions about it: First off, imagine the situation of a person A: You're born in some poor, remote part of India. You're raised fully in hinduist faith. Your all life you basically know nothing but the hindu...

What would it take for you to leave Christianity?

Hard to say... Obviously I don't think anyone with actual faith would've ever accept material things or the money to buy material things. Cars end up in scrapyard, houses get demolished, watches get broken, anyone with IQ higher than a stale sandwich realizes these things are a dust in a wind...

Masturbation as a Sin (A Different Approach)

Because it convicts you of contradicting yourself. On one hand you agree that people should take proper care of their bodies, but since your own, completely personal feeling tells that that touching one self is 'ew' you brutally try to force it to your spiritual opinion, but completely neglect...

Masturbation as a Sin (A Different Approach)

Well funny you should say that, because I attend a Christian youth group at my area and funnily enough I haven't met a single ripped guy there. Which is a shame because if you're skinny, that means you're not reaching your body's potential. I guess we're all bunch of sinners going to hell...

Masturbation as a Sin (A Different Approach)

Your hormones build up over time when you abstain, and they're toned down when you climax. It doesn't have to be supported by any sexual thoughts. Well if you're up to a word game then be it, let's call it a physical need release. You keep talking about honoring your body. But tell me one...

Masturbation as a Sin (A Different Approach)

But you're avoiding the point I was trying to make in my previous posts - you don't necessarily have to think about other people when masturbating; you can think about butterflies and rainbows for what it's worth. You seem to completely ignore the fact that people can touch just to release...

Masturbation as a Sin (A Different Approach)

For some reason I can't find literally a single thing right about getting married just for sexual purposes ^_^ I respect your opinion there but I don't believe you really thought this through - do you really believe that just finding some random girl for the sole purpose of sex is - under any...

Masturbation as a Sin (A Different Approach)

Obviously to release the sexual pressure. When you're not married and thus can't do the "100% morally clean sexual relieve", your sexual desire gradually increases over time, leading to stronger sexual thoughts. Which leads me to: ^Obviously what Paul said was connected to the adultery. I mean...

Masturbation as a Sin (A Different Approach)

"At least as damaging" - so when there's literally not a single another actual person involved it's "possibly even worse" than lusting after an actual person? I just don't see the logic in there. But following this thought, would you percieve a masturbation without thinking about anything...

Masturbation as a Sin (A Different Approach)

Slightly out of topic, but what do you guys think about a cartoon pornography, aka hentai? Since the essence of the sin in watching regular pornography is lusting after other people, where exactly it is when masturbating over a non-existing fictional charactersl, which basically is nothing but...

If an atheist asks you, "why are Christians right and Hinduists/Buddhists wrong"?

You're right but I'm looking for specific arguments to convince an atheist who has no experience with the scripture and just - at the moment - doesn't believe that what Bible says is true. For him it's just "some book", just like some hindu scripture, and all in all to him it's just "many...

If an atheist asks you, "why are Christians right and Hinduists/Buddhists wrong"?

Hi guys, I'm looking for this sort of evangelical advice. Arguing against atheism isn't that difficult since there's no explanation the the creation of the initial singularity during Big Bang other than a supernatural power. But imagine such situation. Let's say the atheist agrees with you that...
