HOLY AND BLAMELESS IN GOD'S EYES

The author sure got a lot out of two verses. As has been brought up, how does sin play into this equation? Also, I know little about Messianic Jews, it could be that the author's view of Christianity is skewed? This is why I stay away from some books, articles.

HOLY AND BLAMELESS IN GOD'S EYES

As Padre Pio said, "Pray, hope, and don't worry."

    A forever hell

I don't understand what part of my last post you think had anything to do with the final judgement. I was comparing those of more modern times who had never heard the gospel, with those in the far past who had never heard the gospel, because there was none, and had to be judged as such, based...

    A forever hell

You mean the spirits who were there? Those who had died before Jesus' work on the cross? I would imagine it would be the same as the plains Indians, or anyone else who never heard the Gospel. From what I understand, we have a moral code or understanding of right and wrong written on our...

This is probably a source you have never deemed as relevant, but consider the Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 1033: We cannot be united with God unless we freely choose to love him. But we cannot love God if we sin gravely against him, against our neighbor, or against ourselves...

    A forever hell

I see what you are saying in this post, but, if you are damned, you are damned. Once in hell, people have no desire for heaven. They fully hate God, and are not able to repent because they do not want to. Also, who knows who the disobedient were, or the depth of their disobedience. What I'm...

Yes. Jesus descended into Sheol, or Hades, which means, abode of the dead. He delivered the righteous spirits who had been there since the beginning of creation, but not the damned.

You are comparing apples to oranges here. Suicide is not necessarily a guaranteed ticket to hell.

Yes. I do not follow what you are saying.

Serious sin, or mortal sin, is eternal if the person who committed the sin does not receive forgiveness from God by the time they die. The sin still exists, and is eternal. And it does not exist in time and space, just as God does not exist in time and space, He is eternal. So that person would...

    Depth of sin

Do you understand what grace does for us? It helps to keep us from sinning. Didn't Paul say something about, "working out salvation with fear and trembling"? Meaning it can be lost.

    Depth of sin

You realize this verse is referring to apostasy, right?

    Depth of sin

This isn't right, although I am sure some people believe this.

What is redemption? How is redemptive suffering not an unjust whipping boy?

God is all knowing, and will allow suffering if there is a greater good down the road. He can make good things out of the bad. I'm reminded of St. Veronica, who offered her cloth so Jesus could wipe his face. Or, St. Simon of Cyrene, who carried his cross. It sounds like it would be a good...
