CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I committed my life to Christ in June 1976 and attend Portland Bible College (Portland, Oregon) 1979-1983, where I earned a Bachelor in Theology. I then attended Portland State University, graduating in 1987 with a B.S. in Accounting. I met my wife in 1989 and we married in 1993. After working as an accountant for 21 years, I retired from that career in 2008.
Having served in a variety of ministries over the years, including 7 years as a moderator of the Bible.org forum, I now serve as a teaching and governing elder in our local Calvary Chapel congregation, also wearing the hats of treasurer and CFO.
Always learning (and sometimes unlearning), my theological perspectives have changed over the years. At this point in my pilgrimage, I would characterize my doctrinal position as Evangelical, Reformation Arminian, Charismatic, Conditionalist, and Complementarian. Some of my more recent enlightenments have come by way of Michael S. Heiser, author of The Unseen Realm: Recovering the Supernatural Worldview of the Bible.
