  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

A couple questions about the Septuagint

I have noticed that as I've been comparing. But sometimes there is a difference, but both are true, and I've come across a couple things where the Hebrew and Greek interplay. It's an interesting journey. :)

A couple questions about the Septuagint

I've been reading the Septuagint and have a couple questions. :) Is the Brenton's Septuagint a good translation or is there a better one? Are there commentaries based on the Septuagint? Most of the commentaries I've come across are based on the Masoretic, but I've noticed there are some...

    Timing of Yeshua's birth

There was no room at the inn because everyone had gone to their own city to be taxed. Luke 2:1-7 Unless the timing of the decree coincided with the feast of tabernacles? But then everyone would've been scattered all over the country.

    Ok... who is right?

That verse in context Paul is telling people they need to get along - For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as...

A look at Isaiah 1:1-27 and John 4:1-5:47

Yes, but my question was, "when did He stop hating them?" He also said: "Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow." (Isa 1:16-17) It's...

A look at Isaiah 1:1-27 and John 4:1-5:47

That's a great point! Thank you! I can think of a couple other places in the prophets that the "unto me" and "for yourself" applies, too.

    The fine line

I think the main point is that it is "a catch phrase."

A look at Isaiah 1:1-27 and John 4:1-5:47

I have a question. It's written: 14 "Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hates; they have become a burden to me; I am weary of bearing them." So, when did He stop hating them? - "Your new moons and your appointed feasts"?

    The Strong's Deception

I understand studying the words. Like what are "conies"? lol! The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks; (Pro 30:26) I recently did a search to find out what animal got translated as "coney". :) As for Jeff Benner and the ancient Hebrew, they at least used to...

    The Strong's Deception

Well, I'll try. :) H3 translated as "greenness" (Job 8:12)) and "fruit" (Song 6:11) connected to the word for "father" - Fathers produce "fruit", which can mean children, but fathers produce "fruit" meaning what comes from oneself. (For the idea of "what comes from oneself" see Matt. 7:15-20 for...

    The Strong's Deception

Yes. And the words are also connected like "how is a father like a green plant?" And "what is the connection of a father to "fruit"?"
