  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Two Questions For Serious Christians

I think you summed everything up quite nicely. I did not come to argue about such things. I just wanted to see what the majority opinion was. Thanks for sharing.

    Two Questions For Serious Christians

    1. How do you, as a Christian, resolve the differences between the God of Abraham portrayed in the Old Testament with the Jesus Christ portrayed in the New Testament? It is said that Jesus is the God of Abraham incarnate, but they seem like opposites to me. The God of Abraham is depicted as...

    Roles In Christianity

Also, to the person who asked me if perhaps I am biased regarding the roles given by the Holy Bible - that was very insightful. There is no doubt in my mind that you are correct in that my assumption was that the role of women according to the Holy Bible was less than that of a man, but that...

    Roles In Christianity

Thanks for the support, everyone. I think I understand how all of this works, now. It is still difficult for me to tell many of the women I know that I agree with the teachings of the Holy Bible, and them not to think of me as a sexist. I strive to be as God would want me to be, but people...

    Roles In Christianity

I have been reading what the bible states regarding the role of women, recently. I find it unsettling and a little disheartening what many of the verses in the Holy Bible proclaim the role of a woman is. I must say that I disagree with it, and yet I consider it the word of God. So, there is a...

    Christianity, Death, Resurrection, Judgment

I have encountered so much confusion on this subject it has now confused me. I need to read some good answers based upon the Holy Bible and not opinion. My question: When people die where do they go? Do they go to Heaven or The Lake of Fire, or do they wait for judgment day in Sheol/Hades? I...

    John 14 Misinterpretation

John 14:6 - "I am the way, the truth, and the life; No man cometh unto the father but by me." So many Christian have used this verse to establish the absolute authority of Christianity. So many Christians would accuse non-Christians of taking verses from the holy bible out of context to suit...

    Coming Full Circle

Hello, everyone! I was raised by Christian parents. My mother was Catholic and my father was Protestant. I had great faith in Christianity as a child, but was tested at the age of eleven, when my father, who I loved so much, became sick with cancer and eventually died because of it. He...
