  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The ten commandments Old covenant, and the law "done away" and "abolished" as paul said

I agree with you. The letter is to the church in Rome (who were primarily Gentile Christians). That's not to say there weren't any Jewish Christians within that assembly, only that in Rome, the majority would have been Gentile Christians. Geographically speaking, this makes perfect sense...

Angry Mexican Man confronts Donald Trump over "illegal immigration" politics

Clearly, you missed the point. The point (as clearly as I can write it out for you) is that there was no law which prohibited people from settling in this "New World". So, AGAIN, the European settlers were not here illegally!

Discussion A Child of God does not sin.

I think the Apostle Paul was pretty clear in addressing this dichotomy. Romans 6:6; Ephesians 2:15; 4:22-24; and Colossians 3:9-11.

    Anniversary of Hiroshima bombing...

I guess you didn't notice the question mark? It was a question. Perhaps I should have made it more obvious by starting the question with the word "Do". Seriously, what alternative action would you suggest (apart from dropping an atomic bomb)? Just ignore the Japanese and hope they surrender...

Discussion A Child of God does not sin.

I have read the entire chapter, as a matter of fact, I've read the entire New Testament many times and 1 John more times than I can remember. The point being, a born-again Christian (a child of God) can sin. If it were impossible for them to sin, then they would have NO NEED to confess their...

Angry Mexican Man confronts Donald Trump over "illegal immigration" politics

That is NOT the same thing as land ownership. Knowing where rival tribes live and where they hunt is not the same thing as "ownership". The concept of "ownership" was not equivalent to European understanding or laws. "for no man can own the land—he can only borrow from it." Again, the...

    Anniversary of Hiroshima bombing...

Why should America apologize to the cowardly actions of the Japanese? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attack_on_Pearl_Harbor President Harry S. Truman, warned by some of his advisers that any attempt to invade Japan would result in horrific American casualties, ordered that the new weapon be used...

Why so Many Angry Christians today ?

Matthew 7:21-23 and Matthew 25:41 Jesus is pretty clear that certain people will be punished in the same place that was prepared for the devil and those like him (demons).

Angry Mexican Man confronts Donald Trump over "illegal immigration" politics

What laws did the Native Americans have which prohibited Europeans from settling on American soil? My understanding of Native American history is that they did not even have a concept of "land ownership" prior to the arrival of the European settlers. So, how could they have any laws to...

    Happy Left-Handers Day!

I think it's funny how left-handed people are much more tolerant than right-handed people. The bias and discrimination against left-handed people must be stopped! Left-handed people's lives Matter! :)

Discussion A Child of God does not sin.

We have a contradiction if we go with your interpretation. Contradiction: 1 John 3:9 vs 1 John 1:8 However, if you read the passages in the original Greek, there is no contradiction. John is talking about habitual and continual sin. To say that a child of God never sins (in this life) is...

Worship God in Spirit and in truth

According to the gospel of John (quoting Jesus): "For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth." John 4:24 I understand that we must worship God in truth. But how do you worship God in Spirit?

Discussion A Child of God does not sin.

1 John 1:8-10 "If we say, “We have no sin,” we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say, “We don’t have any sin,” we make Him a liar, and His word is...

    Holy Trinity Confusion

Judgment of the Nations is referring to Gentile nations and the people who either accepted Christ and followed His example vs those Gentile nations/people who rejected Christ and persecuted the Jews. An interesting article on this particular viewpoint can be read at...
