  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I was raised Methodist and baptized as an infant. I later became an Atheist when I began using my brain for critical thought. At age 16 a close friend presented the "good news" to me in a way that I understood and I prayed for God to forgive me and for Yeshua to come into my life and change me. He did. Three nights later God gave me a life-changing vision that I'll never forget. I got a glimpse of heaven and why he is called the "Father of Lights". Many years later I wound-up in a conservative evangelical (fundamentalist-light) Church. I bought-into the doctrine hook-line-and-sinker. I studied the Bible like mad. I got baptized as an act of obedience. I soaked it up like a sponge. Naturally...I had questions. Too many contradictions. I found holes in the theology. I found legalism. I learned about the history of the Chuch. I grew spirtually...big-time. I left that Church. I currently do not attend a Church. I continue to search and grow.
