  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The RCC born in 313 AD?

since you believe that the catholic church did not begin until after this quote, what do you think of this? "He once in Cana of Galilee, turned the water into wine, akin to blood, and is it incredible that He should have turned wine into blood?" Cyril of Jerusalem, Catechetical Lectures...

The RCC born in 313 AD?

<staff edit> ill try to answer your three questions here: 1)does the teaching go back to the apostles? sure it does, ignatius learned his christian faith from John the Apostle. doesnt this fullfill what you ask? 2) the whole church agreed. every church father says the same things about the...

The RCC born in 313 AD?

you say these quotes are not conclusive proof. well I think they are, if the question is "did the early church believe the bread becomes the body of Christ, truly and the wine becomes his bood truly. you play a game, fooling yourself and others, by saying "oh i do believe it truly becomes his...

The RCC born in 313 AD?

"They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer, because they confess not the Eucharist to be the flesh of our Saviour Jesus Christ, which suffered for our sins, and which the Father, of His goodness, raised up again." Ignatius of Antioch, Epistle to Smyrnaeans, 7,1 (c. A.D. 110). "For not as...

The RCC born in 313 AD?

i wish I wouldnt have to talk this way, but man cmon! The whole early church believed this clearly, and you wont accept that. The same with baptism, and many catholic teachings. the whole early church taught the catholic viewpoint. I have to be this way towards you for ignoring or trying to...

okay so you just insulted me, by calling me pananoid. then you say, i expected more from you. what kind of man are you? is this how you talk to people at work, your family members? you know, i think you made a huge error in trying to explain away Ignatius of antioch by saying, and I...

The RCC born in 313 AD?

albion what im trying to do, and what im succeeding at, is little by little, breaking down the false assumptions and lies that anti-catholics build their foundations upon. Have you ever read the early church fathers? have you read eusibeious, the didache, the writings of igatius of antioch...

The RCC born in 313 AD?

here is what martin luther says about the eucharist. Notice he also realizes that NO EARLY CHURCH FATHER denied that the eucharist is truly the Body and Blood of Christ. Who, but the devil, has granted such license of wresting the words of the holy Scripture? Who ever read in the Scriptures...

The RCC born in 313 AD?

dont you get what I am saying? I said the Romans thought the christians were claiming to eat physical human flesh, you know like eating someones arm. Are you playing some kind of game? Think. you know that I am not saying what you are saying. You are now twisting my words too. isnt that obvious?

The RCC born in 313 AD?

You completely twisted what happened. Here is the scenario: 1) Romans accused the saints of eating human flesh, and the romans were sickened by the thought. I am correct in this. 2) The christians denied that they were eating human flesh, as so far they were accused. 3) therefore, they...

Did reality just slap me in the face through the grace of our Lord?

There must be a very good reason why the Lord had that verse strike you so strongly. The fact that you are over here telling us about it is most likely God's will. If you want to know what I think, I would say that the Lord wants you to seek unity. Catholicism has always sought the...
