    Christian tolerance?

Oobi, from your words you appear to be a messianic. Coupld you explain Paul's writings to the Galatians (esp Chapter 3)? Please see verses below. Galatians 3:10-11 "All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do...

    Christian tolerance?

I do not recall the apostle Paul burning statues of the gods of Rome..... IMO, if someone asks me if the beliefs of muslims or mormons are correct, I would be glad to explain my No. :)

Spurgeon - The Agreement of Salvation by Grace with walking in works

That behavior sounds way too familiar (sort of akin to the way mormons handle questions and I thought RC and EO church leaders had anathematized mormons. Has that changed recently? ) No works we do, not one rule we follow, not one single solitary act we puny mortals can do will add to...

The Eucharist surely is shown to be His Body and Blood.

So Mary is now part of the Godhead? Sounds kind of like the mormon concept of deity with a separate and distinct god, jesus and holy ghost (the latter with an optional body of flesh and bone) along with a female goddess called "heavenly mother." I rejected their false concept and similarly...

Intellectual engagement in an age of cotton candy churches.

Was Jesus "touchy feely" and singing KumBaYah when he addressed the Pharisees? Calling someone a Whited Sepulchur or telling them that they made His Father's House a den of thieves is not being kind or super sacchariney sweet (and insincere). Been there, done that, and like the aftermath of...

Reformers had no legitimate mission from God.

Western "Catholic"beliefs at the time of the Reformers: 1. Indulgences could shave time off ones "sentence" in "purgatory." On that subject, could someone explain just what exactly was Johann Tetzel given sainthood for? His song "Ev'ry time a coin in the coffer rings, Another soul from...

    Indulgences: Fact or Fiction

e ( Funny but after Augustine and his peers, things deteriorated quickly. The Dark Ages were a case in point: The actual reason that the Bible (written in Latin for the use of the parish priest) was chained to the pulpit was this: So that all control over what was read TO the (mostly)...

    Indulgences: Fact or Fiction

Answering the following question will help you: Who is God to you? Is He sovereign or is He subject to man?

Reformers had no legitimate mission from God.

Absolutely. The book of Acts makes that point quite clearly (the apostles began to spread the Good News of the Lord Jesus after the martyrdom of Stephen). The Asian churches were still subject to the church in Jerusalem in the first few centuries.

    Indulgences: Fact or Fiction

Of course that is what the Bible says (and that is why Catholics fought so hard to keep the Word of God out of the hands of the laity). Maybe Ian Paisley is right after all!

Reformers had no legitimate mission from God.

SSPX, SSPV and how many "popes" are there now? And do they recognize each other as saved?

    Do OCs agree with this?

Excellent points. I always had reservations about being asked if I was "worthy" to be in God's presence (the answer in my mind was "of course not!" but the bishops/stake presidents would allay the concern with "as long as you did not answer yes to the other questions, you will be fine). :eek...

The Stick of Judah and The Stick of Joseph

Stick of Joseph = house of Israel & stick of Judah = house of Judah. The two kingdoms split along tribal lines during the reign of King Rehobam. This refers to a joining of the 2 kingdoms when Christ returns.

    The Sovereignty Of GOD!

 I reworded it to make sense. I was sort of distracted when I typed that earlier. "Yay God! I was so smart, I chose you" was what I meant to say. :sorry:
