  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Bradley Manning guilty of espionage in Wikileaks case

The US are just embarrassed and angry that Wikileaks keeps making them look bad. Assange is a hero, and I support Wikileaks. Whistleblowers should be protected, especially from the US, who doesn't seem to like taking responsibility for it's dodgy actions.

Edward Snowden Granted Russian Asylum, Leaves Airport

It doesn't matter what party is in or who is the leader. The US is run by corporations. The President, regardless of who it is, is just a puppet dictated to by corporations, who, for some reason equal people. Snowden shouldn't have to face the music. He did the right thing.

Is there a Bogan capitol of Australia?

Port Lincoln, sea food capital of Australia, home to lots of wealthy people, also breeds a lot of bogans driving Commodors with defect stickers on them.

Darwin doesn't want you to be a monkey, great, but what did he want?

Darwin began his Scientific studies as a Christian man who struggled with the idea that God would create creatures that survive on the torture of others. "I cannot persuade myself that a beneficent and omnipotent God would have designedly created parasitic wasps with the express intention of...

    Man's right to choose

I think yes. I don't know how it would go in practice, but in theory, yes.

Gillard singes Christian Lobby over offensive gay remark

Not all gay men have anal sex. There are straight couples who do it. Is it our business how people have consensual sex? No. 95% of pedophiles are heterosexuals. Pedophilia and Child Sexual Molestation High suicide rates should not be a factor when determining what's a "high risk"...

    Christianity & Sociopathy??

The thread title got me interested, because I often do think of how sociopaths and psychopaths fit in Christianity, but the video itself was a bit meh. Anti-social Behaviour like psychopathy, and I suppose sociopathy, is increasingly being accepted as a disorder, like a learning disorder...

if gay ''marriage''' approved what next?

Gay marriage is not some slippery slope into polygamy and beastiality. Firstly, humans and animals will never get married in Australia - Animals can't sign a legal contract. It's not going to open the flood gates because when gays can marry, gays will marry. That's it. Gays won't convince...

GBLTI Marriage - What's the worst that could happen?

Inter-sexed is the correct term for hermaphrodite.

    Socialism vs. Capitalism

Socialism and democracy can go together. Democracy - the people choosing the Government. Socialism - the Government taking money and redistributing it. (put simply; there is more to it). They can work together. To clarify what I meant about socialistic policies in Australia, I meant things...

    Adelaide street preachers

Probably a bit of both. I'm not sure of the "seeker sensitive" part, but it is a mega church and it is a church that the street preachers disagree with. I agree with what the street preachers were saying. I don't like the prosperity gospel at all, but i don't like their opproach.

GBLTI Marriage - What's the worst that could happen?

Then neither is a marriage between two infertile people. Should we require people to take tests to see how likely they are to produce children before they're allowed to marry? As 3rdHeaven said, economically speaking, same-sex marriage would be great. Especially for the tuxedo industry.

I love P.E.T.A and what they do.

I love animals, and I like SOME of Peta's campaigns, but I prefer the RSPCA (followed by the WPSA and AWL). I do like Peta exposing what goes on behind closed doors, but I don't like that they tend to manipulate what's happening to their gain. For example, they had videos of cows being...

    Socialism vs. Capitalism

I picked Socialism, but in reality, a nice mixture of both is best. I think pure capitalism is rotten. But with freedom, capitalism is inevitable. I'm quite happy with the way my country works. We have capitalism. For sure. But we also have some socialistic policies and practices.

    Adelaide street preachers

I live in Adelaide. I dislike these guys A LOT. Every Friday evening they plant themselves in the Mall and preach loudly while holding those stupid and obnoxious signs. They also like to show up at various rallies (such a marriage-equality ones), and have gone to Victor Harbour to harass the...
