  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    your opinion: The Trinity

this is such great discussion. I think so many times we don't think about each other's views because we are tooo busy shouting ours. I have another question now. If the trinity is the solid truth about the Godhead why did it take hundreds of years to be established doctrine or dogma within the...

    your opinion: The Trinity

I do not think that he was trying to make God smaller than He is because our whole universe can not contain him. I think that you have to have logic in religion because without it scripture could not be comprehended. I take a lot of comfort in this verse... Isaiah 1:18a "Come now, let us...

    Sons of Abraham

There are some sects of Christianity that do not believe that Jesus meant one in purpose here, but one in being without the trinity. These different sects believe that the Jewish tradition found in Deuteronomy 6:4- " Hear O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord", continue with Jesus. That God...

JJWhite, Since you brought up the day of resurrection, I have a question. I have heard people say that in the Koran Jesus bring about the end of time. Is there any truth in that or am I just misinformed and if so please explain?

    Sons of Abraham

The OT prophet Isaiah did tell of God coming incarnate. In Isaiah 9:6-7 it says "6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, [b] Mighty God, Everlasting...

    Sons of Abraham

Jesus did claim to be YHWH. To understand it though we need to look at some OT scripture first. In Exodus 3:13-14, Moses was given the title for god that the jews have used for centuries. Exodus 3:13-14 "Moses said to God, "Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, 'The God of...

    Sons of Abraham

There really is nowhere to go after this kind of nonsensical statement. Abraham was and is the Father of the Jewish faith. Descendants of Israel are by definition also descendants of Abraham, and Noah and Adam. Well if you want to get critical about it, Abraham was neither a muslim or a...

    Saddest books you've read?

atonement Child by francine rivers is very sad but good. It really points out the faithfulness of God even in circumstances that we dont understand

What does God require of us?

Jesus also gave us two other commandments. 7-40 Jesus said, "'Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.' This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: 'Love others as well as you love yourself.' These two commands...
