  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    20/20 Transgender Episode

I wanted to discuss the 20/20 episode on transgender children that aired this past Friday (4/27). Would a God, who is not the author of confusion, in whom we are fearfully and wonderfully made, who knows the number of hairs on our head, who created our bodies as a temple of His glory and in...

Do You Know a Lot of Christian Singles?

Before I married, I used to be part of a Christian singles group with people in their 30s and 40s, some of whom never seemed to show any interest at all in the opposite sex (I was there for 8 years myself). I once was a part of a "no dating" Church (I'd call it a cult today) where calling a...

Hospice Helps Dying Man Lose His Virginity.

Have you been in his situation? It's easy for us to sit here and condemn or congratulate him, yet who knows what we would do if that were us. My thought is, when you're dying and disabled, is there a "so much better?" I really feel like his experience may have been nice physically, I'm sure...

Hospice Helps Dying Man Lose His Virginity.

Sex is absolutely beautiful and it feels great. But, it is also dangerous- that is why God placed it in the safety of marriage. But again, if I were in his circumstances, I know I would be tempted to do what he did. I might also go bungee jumping and skydiving too. And I don't fault the...

Hospice Helps Dying Man Lose His Virginity.

What would we do in this situation? I would like to believe I would do the right thing, but I'm not so sure. How many people want to die never having experienced sexual fulfillment? I guess one thing I don't get... was there no other disabled, dying woman, perhaps with the same disease, who he...

    Drinking

Yesterday at Church my pastor's message was about drinking. The message was part of a series titled "Controversial Issues," but there seemed to be no controversy in his message. As far as he is concerned, there is no such thing as a responsible drinker. Alcohol is just plain poisonous and...

    Hurricane Katrina Discussion

The debates can go on forever. On thing that is certain is what happened with the poor black people in New Orleans has really shed light on the great racial divide in this country. I would like to ask: what things have you all done to bridge the racial gap that does still exist (look at the...

A Cross to Bridge the Great Divide

This is ridiculous! My beginning this thread was not to talk about the nature of these issues, guilt or innocence, etc. but to discuss why blacks and whites are so far apart on things and what have you done to change this or what can be done for change. What part don't you understand?

    Hurricane Katrina Discussion

When the people looted and shot at those who were trying to rescue them, it was because they were black. But when the government didn't respond fast enough to rescue these people, it wasn't because they were black. Hmmmm..........

During a disaster, when is it ok to steal?

Easy to sit here and debate what we might do while real people are down there having to make these decisions, isn't it? :prayer: For the victims of this horrible tragedy....

    Womyn, herstory, etc.

I voted "tiresome and pointless." But actually I like the term in an unofficial sense, as women's history is important and has, unfortunately been underrated for a long time.

Would you give a ride home? Would you take a ride?

I can understand the issues of accepting others who differ from us. However some of these choices (KKK guy, man on his way to gay bar, etc) really come down to issues of trust, enabling someone and healthy boundaries. A KKK person has the right to hate me (I'm black) but it's my personal...

    Slavery

Well... are you willing to be a slave yourself? Are you willing to allow your wife or daughter become some other man's slave and be forced to obey his sexual commands?
