  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

And what about husbands? Are they like Jesus? I think Paul is telling us where we should be, not where we are :)

Reminder: none of us deserves grace

(just some hurried notes) Grace, from Latin Gratis, is free in many senses. One of them is that it is wholly unmerited. There is nothing we could do to merit salvation. Even if we were able, we aren't, to lead a fully sinless life, the fact remains that nothing we do can merit even a smile...

We were all pitiful beggars of God mercy.

    Burying Tamerlan Tsarnaev

You deserved hell, if I have to believe the Bible. Why should God had to respect you? Yet He gave His only Son for your salvation.

    Burying Tamerlan Tsarnaev

If you could remember what Jesus did for us all, who us all deserved hell, then, perhaps you would not consider a big thing to bury anybody with a little respect.

    "Religion" vs "Spirituality"

I think it is a pretty good analogy he uses; his message is powerful and well thought; if he's rejected it's only because of the now popular idea that religion is opposed to grace.
