    Naming Children: The Rules

The only rule we have is that we use a traditional Maori name (generally as a middle name - although our daughter is the exception) to honour the heritage we both come from. Other than that, if we like it we use it!

    Hello

I am 19 weeks approx. with twins. We have a scan coming up, and an amnio as well so we'll know soon whatGod has planned for us.

    Vaccinations

We do - but we do them at our own pace. Seems a bit much to expose a 6 week old baby to the multitude of shots that early. We do one at 3 mths, one at 9mths, one at a year (ish) and space them out. By the time they are 4 1/2 they're caught up with their peers on the 'books' so to speak.

    Coming home outfits..any thoughts yet?

that is really cute! we'll decide after two matters are settled, one being are the twins boys, girls or one of each? and the second matter will relate to birth date, how many weeks we make it how big they are at homecoming time. Our doctor is hopeful we'll get to 36 weeks, which would not...

    Ultrasound update

oh He appears to have a sense of humour, that's for sure! We're feeling a bit less alarmed today - I think it will take a few weeks before we 'believe' it but wow. Just wow. It also explains why nothing fits right anymore! I was getting concerned at how soon I had to break out the preggy...

    Names!

well we always choose a name, and couple it with a Maori name as a middle name. It's a very important part of our culture. So we have David Tipene (Stephen), Matthew Wiremu (William), Jamie Timoti (Timothy) and Aroha (Love) Jade. This wee one will either be Samuel Hone (John) or Elizabeth...

    Well I was right!

That God of ours sure likes to keep us guessing! 7 years after our last blessing, He's seen fit to give us another! Considering my doctor (and myself!!) were quite convinced I was peri-menopausal this comes as a little bit of a shock! So sometime late September we'll add one more to our...

Is there room in here for one more?

Testing at some point this week - but I've skipped a period, and I'm NEVER late. I know my body signs well, and they all point to us having a 'baby on board' - scarey for us now our youngest is 7 but if it's what God wants we'll deal with it :)

    Home schoolers?

RR - we are in Wellington, but well out round the bays :) So a little cut off from the city but we love it. Of course it means David's day is going to be VERY long from the time he leaves in the morning to getting home in the evening.

    Home schoolers?

1 - we're assessed the same way schools are here, through ERO (Education Review Office) however if we're getting it badly wrong we're not given the second (and third, fourth, fifth) chance that schools are to get it right 2 - my boys are all in karate and Boys Brigade, my daughter takes gym...
