  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

US murder rate hits lowest level since 1900, report says

You don't agree w/ the commandment by G-d? Can't go wrong quoting Scripture, eh? Can't receive a direct answer.... what's next? Being subject to your interpretation?

What is to say? You stated as long as what I stated was not a call to kill "them". Read the Scriptures in context. Man, always thinks he knows better than G-d and will prescribe what he thinks best. Can't go wrong quoting Scripture, correct? That is, even for modern law or policies. You ask why...

With "friends" like this who needs enemies? Serpent among and in the midst. I expect the mishandling of Scripture whenever anybody secular quotes the Scripture. Liberalism is even more lethal in Christianity, because they are often found in our midst.

What about Israeli Messianic Jews? And likewise, America is no better than the modern state of Israel. Couldn't everything you stated @keras be applicable to Americans? Hard to believe Christianity was an once Sect of Judaism. Liberalism won for the last two millenniums the liberal school of...

That wasn't what I intended to convey. Religion, in the context of the 1st amendment was what I addressed. I said nothing about secularism other than what today secularism conveys. Nor did I mention for example, the freedom to express homosexuality but briefly included it under the Greek...

I hope well w/in the topic, some credit Trump or his political party for the lower murder rate. As to why some believe the reestablishment of law and order and reinforcing both legal prosecution and enforcement are the cause. If I derailed the thread by suggesting the issues today could have...

That's not what I referenced (property ownership). That's something I'd like to see rather than the qualifications for President/Commander and Chief. Obviously, such was favorable in the history of America. Certainly, the number of Presidents that served are listed in contrast to the Presidents...

Thank you for the welcome @Pommer, and here's 1 reference: Voting Rights and Restrictions in Pre-Emancipation America | Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History Other references require "inference" from laws passed by states which essentially had taken away voting rights from anybody that...

Yes, they could have defined religion, but could they have defined it in such a future way as now? Consider the historical context, beliefs, and convictions of "the people" as well their representatives. Did the representatives at the time disregard the belief of the peoples? One thing is clear...

A lot of the issues today would have been avoided. Our forefathers had laws that 1) required property ownership to vote and 2) only citizens could own property. Let's just say that the founding fathers understood who and who doesn't have an invested interest in this country. Before I die I'd...

By nature, Liberal interpreters twist whatever data whatever source text and turn the author into a puppet for their special interest (eisegesis). Undoubtedly, Liberals benefit the Democrat narrative. US-Dem? Let me now use the "ignore" feature. Personally, I believe crime would plummet if the...

What happens spiritually that makes us born again?

I keep in mind soteriology has been the same throughout the OT and NT covenant divide, the tree expands the divide by which we were grafted in. Though the Spirit could depart a believer in the OT for equipping for an office (king Saul) the words and indwelling of the Spirit is permanent in the...

What happens spiritually that makes us born again?

Yes! I read that exact page a couple of decades ago. Monergism is a wonderful resource, I prefer "dead theologians" because their faithfulness can be historically observed and whether their doctrine has stood throughout the criticism of time. Can't go wrong w/ some of the giants of theology like...
