  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Jesus and the Talmud?

    I was referring to the references made too about Jesus which is used as a proponent to the Jesus-Myth hypothesis, being that it refers to multiple different Jesuses.

    Jesus and the Talmud?

    Hmmmm...........

    Jesus and the Talmud?

    The problem with that assertion is the fact that the Talmud predates Jesus' lifetime. I don't understand how you can accept that Jesus is actually mentioned in that book when Jesus-mythers use it to their own advantage, and they can, simply because it better fits their thesis than the Christian...

    Jesus and the Talmud?

    Jesus-mythers like to make the claim that Jesus is found in the Talmud long before his traditionally accepted timeline. If this is true, this makes Jesus a mythical character like many of the other myths passed down in history, this gives the entire timespan of Jesus' biggest fame over more than...

    Thanks for the encouragement, heh. :sorry:

    Zoroastrianism = Christianity?

    I'm assuming this would mean that Zoroaster (if he in fact lived as long as 6000 - 4000 BC) was an early follower of whom the Jews later called Yahweh?

    Does the bible advocate a universal centered earth?

    May I ask what bible version you are using? It doesn't seem to come up exactly the same as in the New International Version. Edit: nevermind, I checked the whole thing out.

    Zoroastrianism = Christianity?

    Hmmmm.....I'll definetly take that into consideration, I'll check through the book of David and see what I find that may be of interest.

    Does the bible advocate a universal centered earth?

    I never thought I would actually come across a verse in the bible which suggests that the earth was the center of the universe, but some verses in the Old Testament are slightly troubling: Does this imply that the earth is still in one place of the universe and is unmovable? Or is this more...

    Zoroastrianism = Christianity?

    It sounds though as if you are undermining the concept of Christ being the savior, you are almost asserting that Jesus only came for the latter, that sounds a bit contradicting to the Christian beliefs, as far as I know, if there are prophecies concerning him in the Old Testament, then he came...

    Zoroastrianism = Christianity?

    It says on your profile that you are an Anglican priest, how can you be a Christian if you are asking these type of skeptical objectional questions? To me that's just as questionable and as odd as John Dominic Crossan writing for the Jesus Seminar and claiming to be a believer in Christianity. :(

    Zoroastrianism = Christianity?

    Stinker you seem well learned of the Zoroaster religion just by looking at your profile avatar, if you are so well known with this religion, what makes the Jewish monotheistic traditions more compelling?

    Zoroastrianism = Christianity?

    That helps, some of those links I think are really stretching the chronology (6000 BC?????) which show extremitism. It seems Ahuru Mazda is similar to Yahweh, but I highly doubt that the Jews would have gotten the idea from this philosophy, being my personal opinion.

    Zoroastrianism = Christianity?

    What do you know about the Zoroaster religion? I'm curious about specifics, can you quote a source, etc? Edit: not for the existence of Zoroaster but what his personal beliefs were based on what we may possess today.
