  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

  1. The Flying Scroll of Zechariah: God’s Unshakable Judgment

Clinging to the Letter While Missing the Life

We all share a deep reverence for Scripture, but are we sometimes holding too tightly to specific words, ‘clinging to the letter. The variation in Mark 1:41, for instance, serves as a compelling example. We love the Bible. We rightly call it the inspired, authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy...

The Battleground is Our Training Ground

Happy New Year to All! May God provide the Spirit to help with the battles of 2026, be sure there will be some battles we must face to refine us as gold. God bless from Jason in Japan. In our journey of faith, we often pray for "quiet waters." We want our workplaces to be harmonious, our...

Reflections from 2025 – The Believer’s Battle, the Church’s Trial, and the Danger of Worldly Conformity

By Jason – out of love and care for Christ’s Church I woke at 2 a.m. in that quiet hour so often suited for prayer. As this year draws to a close, I have been pondering a question that weighs heavily on my heart: why does one glorious, free salvation—by grace alone through faith alone in Christ...

How Can Satan Roam Upon The Earth?

The Sovereignty of God Over Satan and Suffering Part I: Satan’s Ranging: Prowling Under God’s Control The passage in Job ( Job 1:6-7 ) confirms that Satan is an active, created being who moves in God’s creation. The New Testament confirms that this activity did not end after Job’s time. This...

    3 A.M. Investment

Woke up, the clock read 3 a.m. The thought immediately came: “Well, since you're awake, go read and study.” The apartment is always perfectly peaceful at these small hours. Fuji was a shadow cut against the stars. Below, the park was silent. And there I was: lamp on, Bible open, grappling with...

Swatting Trolls v. Encouraging Saints—Who Wins When Threads Go Sideways?

Steve, I’ve seen the same injection of cultural relevance from NZ to Japan—lights, smoke, slogans—yet the house can feel full while God’s throne room stays empty. The simple Gospel is still scandal + simplicity: “We preach Christ crucified… not with plausible words of wisdom, but in...

Swatting Trolls v. Encouraging Saints—Who Wins When Threads Go Sideways?

I’m with you—polite, public debate is worth it, not to win the troll but to leave bread-crumbs for the silent third-parties who later DM, “I never knew Christians thought like that.” If grace stays on the keyboard, the Spirit can use even our push-backs to chip away at someone’s...

Swatting Trolls v. Encouraging Saints—Who Wins When Threads Go Sideways?

Steve, thank you for laying out that graceful-exit roadmap. My own Tokyo witness has never hinged on clever rhetoric: I simply raise Jesus’ name, share the freedom He offers, and leave the growth to God. Online, my blogs try to encourage deeper thought, but the depth always points back to the...

What’s one ‘harmless’ habit you finally quit because it was quietly stealing your joy?

Gave the news the push many years ago, in fact haven't watched anything from the State for over 20 years. I thank the good Lord for the internet and VPNs.

Stepping from Fog into Sunlight: What is your "Holy Ground" moment?

Steve, here’s a tiny Chat-GPT starter: Paste: “Chords Em-C-G-D, line ‘cathedral without walls’, key Em, 6/8, mellow. Give me 1 verse + 1 chorus structure and a soft pad suggestion.” Grab what sparks, rewrite till it breathes your night-sky, then play it when you’re ready—no deadlines, no demos...

Nice, I second that for sure. Thank you for the comment, have a great day/night.

What’s one ‘harmless’ habit you finally quit because it was quietly stealing your joy?

I binned mindless late-night scrolling when I realised sunrise prayer felt like cardboard because my brain was mush. The first week was boring, week two I dreamt again, week three I actually wanted to open my Bible. Drop yours below—no shame, no sermon—just one sentence on the joy-thief you...

Stepping from Fog into Sunlight: What is your "Holy Ground" moment?

Steve, your Warrumbungle memory gave me memories of NZ country skies—shooting stars and the Milky-way spiral are cathedral chandeliers, just that same big sky God hung in the outback! Just a note on those chords: If putting chords to that feels huge, try this tool without guilt: use A.I. (e.g...

The Folded Cloth That Sets The Weary Soul Free

The Father sent the Son. The Father raised the Son. The Father even folded the cloth. Everything is finished. Rest. ️ It was an ordinary Sunday morning, yet one that led to a profound theological journey. As I sat in church today, the sermon’s outline, translated from Japanese to English...

Imitatio Christi - is the following Biblical?

Thank you so much for your deeply honest post, RandyPNW. Your reflection on the spiritual difficulty of accepting suffering and your focus on resignation over ambition truly resonate. It is indeed one of the hardest things we experience in life—knowing God can relieve us, yet willing that we...
