  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    I can't marry this non-virgin!!!

If I was a cruel and heartless liberal (there are those out there who'd say I am), I'd say 'contraception would have been wise'. HOWEVER, since we're talking after the fact, all you can really do is keep your communication with her open. You are a permanent fixture in each other's lives now...

    Is Islam a peaceful religion?

Wow, there's a lot of posts here, but I'm just responding to the first one. I DO think Islam is at its heart a religion of peace, but like Christianity, if it's taken to extremes, it can be abused to justify some terrible acts. Oh, and I'm not sure about the US, but here in Australia, Muslim...

    Happy Birthday to our Members!!!

Somehow I don't see how intolerance of any kind can be interpreted as 'the power of God'.

    Happy Birthday to our Members!!!

I would disagree with 'heatherns' as you call them rejecting all forms of Christianity. I believe all people let God into their lives in some way and to some degree. It just varies how much. But then, that's my affirming, positive attitude towards life shining through again, and we can't...

    Happy Birthday to our Members!!!

Perhaps I should add a line.... "We compare your form of love to lying, drug taking and alcoholism, but we love you." What do you think? And John, I would love to know where you are getting your information, and if you do actually know any real gay people.  I've spent many hours...

    Happy Birthday to our Members!!!

"But We Love You..." Blondofborg You make us sick and we'll tell everyone so, but we love you. We talk about you like you're animals, but we love you. We tell our children to fear and avoid you, but we love you. We tell others you are sick, but we love you. We fight against your rights...

    Homosexuality - A Challenge

Okay. This is an extremely complex issue and I won't insult it, or those who've chosen to post about it by pretending otherwise. But I will try to clarify a few points, as well as the main idea of starting this thread. I believe that a lot of the moral guidelines in the bible are...

    Homosexuality - A Challenge

GTX, thank you for giving me the best laugh I've had in quite some time! But to address your points... "Just because 2 consenting people of the same sex feel compelled to engage in any kind of sex does not make it natural." Okay, by this logic all those heterosexuals who engage in...

    Homosexuality - A Challenge

Hmm... just remember you drew that comparison and not me LOL. But it's obvious that Christians don't hold to everything in the bible. As more and more elements of the bible are shown to be illogical such as abstaining from eating certain foods, or not wearing clothes of mixed fibre, or...

    Homosexuality - A Challenge

Hmm... I don't think beastiality is a mutually consented act GTX! The very idea of comparing it to homosexuality absolutely boggles the mind! As for you Outspoken, if you claim the bible excuses homophobia, then I guess it's also okay that gay youth are on average three times more likely to...

    Homosexuality - A Challenge

GTX: Are you aware that many heterosexuals often enjoy anal intercourse and that many homosexuals never do? Are you also aware that anal intercourse greatly decreases the risk of prostate cancer in men by massaging the prostate if it's done correctly? Outspoken: You want non-Christians to...

    Homosexuality - A Challenge

This is a little challenge I laid down to a fundamentalist forum I used to post to. They couldn't answer it. They had no clue how to respond. They had no solutions. The question is this. What is wrong with homosexuality? Now the rules are pretty much common sense. You cannot use the...
