  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Tithing, although biblical, it's just not Christian...

I have a question that I would like to have some input on.... ...Is tithing required in the new covenant? I believe it is not because tithing was exclusively for Israel under the old covenant. I see no historical proof that the first century Christians tithed, although they gave generously...

The first thing we said huh? Nope I think it was those who are for a national health care system who brought up the issue of money. (refer to Post #2)

Probably a non-essential when it comes to things that are higher on the heirarchy of needs for the poor like shelter and food. Give them health care but leave them out in the street starving, oh that will help!

Distributing taxes back in the time of ancient Israel was different than it was today. Israel paid a yearly tithe (tax) of 23.3% from the seed of the land, the produce of the land, and the herd or flock and those in need ACTUALLY got it. As opposed to today where our tax paying money goes to...

It's not taxes that I would have a problem with but the currupted heart of man.

I say we should not. I believe that there would be an inherent danger of more potential abuse than we have now (for example welfare) if we were allow a national health care system that gave every citizen equal medical rights.

I've got a question to ask since a lot of this has been much disscused, but I just want to know what everyone thinks about it. Share some input and give some support to why you think we should or should not... The question is.... Should the United States empliment a national health care...

Alternate Evolution Theory OK'd for Teaching

All i'm saying is that is that evolution is called a theory because it could be disproven someday. If it is claimed as "truth" then it is a statement of a personal conviction of the speaker, which is outside the domain of science.

It would prevent room for error.

Alternate Evolution Theory OK'd for Teaching

you can't accept something as true and have room for potential error. All it is is just labeling something "true" at the same time knowing that it could be wrong.
