  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Senate Fails to Pass Born-Alive Bill

I won't pretend to know all of the medical lingo behind abortions and the topic at hand, as if I had a medical background. However, I do have a question and point to make. These severe brain and heart malformations, and various genetic conditions, are they often, in the infant, as a result of...

Can't date, but want to take care of someone

This reminds me of a poem I wrote a few years ago. Unexpressed Love/Waiting For the One My love is not cheap, as my mind would ponder, but is a love that seeks expression. Crushes coming and going, and yet they are not the one. Is it that my love is given so freely, or is it agony pulling at...

When we want more than God has planned

As much as contentment is often praised, I also see it as a negative, because it accepts the mundane, it receives plateaus, and hinders growth. If we can be better, if we can go further, why be content where we are when we can be far more reaching? It is good to be content where you are, but...

Worshiping the Holy Spirit Is Unbiblical

It definitely teaches us to honor the Spirit, because the Spirit is the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:17

    Biblical Self Defense Psychologically andSpiritually

To not let bitterness defile you. Hebrews 12:15 King James Version (KJV) 15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; In line with quoting scripture as you put it, we must also know who God is...

    My neighbor is a prostitute

Why does the thread title sound like the title to a book or movie? lol I can imagine a romantic comedy of sorts, but you could tell the tale of her coming to Christ. Have compassion on her. Pray for her. Maybe even invite her to church with you.

    What if universalism was true?

Hey Hammster. The reason I rated this post as "funny" was not to goad you, but because I genuinely found it funny (for a couple of reasons). Firstly because of how blunt you stated your opinion and secondly, because you found the responses disappointing, which means my responses were...

    Please Help with Dream Interpretation

I don't know if its God's providence Mrs.Bridges but here you see a person that could use prayer. Archie, may God open your eyes and ears to His voice.

How do you respond to "Christians are hypocrites"?

It is like people see Christianity in a legalistic fashion. They see hypocrites because they see some Christians not living up to the professed code (openly). If they only knew about the grace of God, they'd see that Jesus came for the sinner and that these people that fall short of the standard...

How do you respond to "Christians are hypocrites"?

I think it has to do with perception. The world sees Christianity as a set of rules and regulations (limitations) instead of seeing the Gospel, and grace of God. It very well may be our own fault. They see "I can't do this, I can't do that", instead of the reconciliation God offers to them...

    What if universalism was true?

By the way, I'm sorry Hammster if I am coming off too forward. I am just saying that this post is not the best method of determining people's response to the grace of God, when you use something that isn't representative of God's grace.

    What if universalism was true?

It is still a message nonetheless filled with grace. People watch movies based upon the crucifixion of Christ and their hearts melt for their Savior. Your litmus test over here for seeing people's response to grace by pretending a lie is true is, sorry for being so direct, illogical. Why...

    What if universalism was true?

You have chosen a poor means of seeing people's response to grace. You should rather preach the Gospel. See their response at Jesus paying their penalty of death (Atonement) for their sins. A merciful act, and gracious towards us as being undeserving of salvation and guilty of sin. Yet, God in...
