  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Mania and Religion

Mania has certainly played into my faith, between the euphoria and grandiosity of the mania, and the 'we can do all things in Christ' I had some pretty lofty ideals. I ran to them with everything I had but kept crashing and falling into depression. It was a race I could not win. I could never...

    What irritates you?

Yes! Ditto on the schedule thingies, events seem to loom over me. I can't schedule to far in advance, it just stresses me out! My pdoc has no concept of time....sorta.....best to go early why he is still relatively on schedule....but the one thing I like is that we always finish the...

    Crying Jags?

As a man it is seemingly a little less socially acceptable to cry, but truth be told I do, often. Seems like I can be talking away and some gripping situation will stop me all up. It has lessened somewhat since meds, but still happens. Seems all to often it is when I realize what bipolar...

    What irritates you?

People stepping in and ruining my manically driven, high flutin', high ordered plans and expectations. Euphoria to Augh-on-the-flooria. **on another note I managed to make it to the shower even though every cell in my body said no. Didn't make it to work. Didn't get anything...

    I have a question....

Energizer, I have bi-polar 2 and nobody suspected it my whole life until just a couple of months ago. My wife and I raised a family, and I am quite sucessful in managing a business. Somehow, barely, I kept going throught the manic times, people just thought I was a hard worker, full of energy...

    Augh.

Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37 v 4 :) No matter how raging the storm, I believe this.

Are You High, Low or Level? (2)

That Hubby of yours sounds like a fantastic guy. That's great he keeps an eye on your mental barometer. You are blessed. Kinda like having the doctor right with you all the time! That is no good that you are not laughing anymore, or that you are not enjoying life. As was said to...

Scripture, Bipolar and Hope! Share here!

Psalm 107 v 13-14 Deepest gloom to unfailing love. Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He brought them out of darkness and the deepest gloom and broke away their chains. Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love. :amen:

Scripture, Bipolar and Hope! Share here!

Yes, lol, something about boats, water, and Jesus just seem to speak to me. When I was a youth I used to shoot the whitewater rapids.....well, another story for another day. :) That is also a prayer of mine. Through this all I have clung to that verse where he says 'I have cast your...

Can God exist if mental illness exists?

DT, I don't know how to explain it all, but one thing I know for sure, God's love is deeper than my deepest pit, and higher than my highest manic swing. He has been there through it all, and knowing that has kept me from going off the deep end. He has often pulled me from the crashing waves, and...

    Which came first?

Your comments have been thought provoking. Early childhood trauma, I think, pushed me to develop within my mind a safe, protected, idealistic world in which to dwell. This coping at such a young age, and the impossible struggle to stay within that idealistic world, have set in motion many...

The Word of God is full of encouragement and understanding. As you read and are moved by what God says, you can share it here. If his words blessed you there is an excellent chance it will bless the rest who read these posts. Plus we can discuss and fellowship as well. :amen: :) Psalm...

Can God exist if mental illness exists?

Hey All, :) Today I did something that I hope is the start of something big. In a moment of inspiration I set out on a new day. I wrote out the time and date, posted it in my house, and underneath it wrote, "Life Begins Today!" I am so tired of being subject to the merciless whims of this...

Are You High, Low or Level? (2)

Actually doing quite well today. :) Suddenly after a multi-day period of wild swings and fluctuations I feel stable. I am not going to get to excited about it all yet, but it feels good to be at peace. :amen:  :)

    Which came first?

Which came first to cause the Bipolar condition? Was the disorder brought on by external events? Such as childhood rejection, abuse, and other? Or did the chemical imbalance naturally occur causing many of the events and perceptions we now have? Basically, is the bipolar a symtom or a cause...
