Semantics based arguments aren't usually the highest quality tiered arguments to make.

So you just confirmed that these disposable masks and microfiber masks that are the vast majority of masks found in public do not, in fact, protect against covid.

And what it protects from are much larger particles than transmitting a virus. Literally on the box of masks, they say they don't stop the spread of covid as a warning. Where I work I can read the boxes myself.

Facial hair, boogers, and actual dripping spit down via gravity into an open wound is entirely different than particulates that even when aerosolized, can go right between the fibers of the mask.
