  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Considering moving away from the Baptist title..

In short, the physical head of the church. (The Catholics claim the succession of Popes descends from Paul, as I recall.) If you see it another way, feel free to elaborate. I doesn't offend me. But, as for me, I personally felt a sense of false authority, when I began to ask questions about...

    Adam Lanza worshiped Satan

I thought Larry Pratt made a worthwhile point, in the Piers Morgan interview, that you cannot give a psychological remedy for a spiritual evil. I am not saying that problems of mental hygiene and brain chemistry do not exist. May God heal the faithful. But, I do believe that sin crosses another...

Considering moving away from the Baptist title..

I am speaking figuratively, not literally, but the Pope is elected, too. Again, the schismatics or denominations all have one. He practices intercessory prayer, commits his flock to unique doctrines, and issues rulings as a figurehead. Everyone who takes on one of these names can Google a...

    The origin of Rapture Doctrine

(For your consideration.) Though the Bible has said that a prophecy would be sealed up, until the time of the end, pretribbers can cite earlier examples of the rapture doctrine. See Rapture Ready's, "Margaret Mac Donald Who?," by Todd Strandberg. Your searchword function (usually CTRL F) will...

    Post resurrection

The next dispensation, after the Tribulation, would be the Millennial Reign. Not only would survivors have seen many wonders, but they will also see a world, probably similar to the one, which existed before the fall of man ruined it, in which the lion lays down with lamb and eats grass. After...

    Mark of the beast

(Worship of the Image of the Beast is also an unforgivable sin.) If you believe in the doctrine of predestination, noone who was ever going to be saved was going to commit an unforgivable sin, since salvation is not something you can lose. I thought that was short, sweet, and to the point...

Considering moving away from the Baptist title..

IMHO, all of the non-denominationals are Protestant. It's common sense that you can't have Catholic without a Pope. The non-denomationals fall under patterns of: Calvinist / Southern Baptist Arminian / charismatic Messianic / Jewish roots What was counter-intuitive to me, was that each...

    Philosophical Discussions on Government

 I am entrepreneurial, of muscular build, and my hands are well calloused. I am incredulous of false dilemmas, as regurgitated in our quasi-socialist institutions. I am not a product of Enlightenment era philosophies, so do not encourage people to style themselves as scholars, so long as...

    Philosophical Discussions on Government

In the case of a monarchy, you would have centralized authority. It would be arbitrary, and your entire life would be decided, as if by fate. This is the same complaint, which exorcists encounter, when they bother to interrogate the demons. This line of thinking is used by Theosophists...

Is It Possible to Pray Sinners Prayers and still Not be Saved?

IMHO, observing that you are sinning and being regretful is not a lack of faith. Some people sin and forget to notice. Some are confronted, but become self righteous. Other people try to work it off.

The SCRIPTURES say NOT ALL SPEAK IN TONGUES

If magic words turned stones to bread or cast mountains into the sea, people should want to know. Again, who is the alleged prophet, who tells me something practical, which could not possibly be communicated in plain, American English. If you were ministering to foreigners, this would be...

    Philosophical Discussions on Government

I had gone from reading the most notorious works of political literature, yes, even those written by odious totalitarians. Even in the most menial of circumstances, I was able to come across as respectable. I paid attention, asked critical questions of many different tradesmen, learned how...

Is It Possible to Pray Sinners Prayers and still Not be Saved?

Everyone knows John 3:16, probably as well as they know McDonald's and CocaCola. People use the reference in vain, next to the name of their favorite celebrity. But, noone seems to know John 3:18, which says that someone may be condemned already. At my supposedly-Calvinistic, yet...

Is It Possible to Pray Sinners Prayers and still Not be Saved?

I started considering this when abortionists were told that we are known in the womb. It was written, on numerous occasions, not to proselytize the disinterested. (KJV concordance references -- dust, feet.) And, I understand that eternity is retroactive. What always shall be, always has been...

I'm a member of The Church Of England-What Are Your Views Of This Church?

I think there is a functional balance between the stale and the disorderly. You come from a rich tradition, which oftentimes forgets the works of the apostles and prophets, whereas the charismatics get so emotional as to lose any sense of structure. My own experiences led to me to believe...
