Haven't been here in a while

It's been a good long while since I have been on these forums. There have been so many events occurring in the lives of my wife and I that I haven't had a lot of time to spend on the internet. Since the last time I was here my wife and I have both had testing on our hearts and have been...

    Need some help

Please...never do that....If God called you, God will fully equip you to do what he's told you to do. It was hard for me the first year that I was preaching. I wasn't very good, but, one day, after many hours of prayer and study, the Lord opened the door for me to preach a sermon on a subject...

    I'm back...Praise the Lord!

For several months I have been unable to get on the site here...don't know if it was my "Norton" protection, or the sites algorithms...but, PTL I'm back! I had wondered if I was ever going to be able to get back on the site, and it was like pulling teeth trying to get ahold of an administrator...

Admin Announcement Holiday styling - how to remove it if you wish

We got snow here in Tennessee...I hope it's the last of it here! Living in the "boondocks" it's hard to love snow. We can get stuck out here for weeks.

    Advocate/Intercessors in Heaven....

I heard and interesting sermon (don't remember who was preaching) that stated we had Jesus Christ as our advocate before God the Father and how he was our only advocate or intercessor. Yet, two sentences later he stated that the Holy Spirit made intercession for us in our prayers...advocating...

At present, I'm in a Southern Baptist Church....

Many "Christians" don't differ from unsaved people at times. I'll let God sort out who is part of the wheat, and who's part of the chaff.

I believe Mr. Anderson is saved, but, I don't believe he is a "Christian" per se. I believe he is one that preaches Christ out of a love of filthy lucre. He surely isn't winning many to Christ, but, is instead, because of his warped theology, leading many astray. He's got far too much hatred...

The "new" IFB movement is really off-the-wall. The founder of that particular movement is not quite what he seems. I used to interact with him on a set of forums known as the "FFF" or the Fighting Fundamentalist Forums back in the late 90s, eary 2000's.

At present, I'm in a Southern Baptist Church....

I can only go by what I know of the Lutheran church and what they did when I was in them. My great-grandmother used to attend a Lutheran church in S. Central Missouri back in the 1960s when I was a child, and I remember well their church having a new minister being sent by the diocese, the old...

I agree! Being autonomous churches they set their own policy, call their own pastors, support what ministries are connected to themselves, and use any materials they want, not necessarily those from Lifeway. I'm on another forum at present where a moderator says the churches aren't autonomous...

At present, I'm in a Southern Baptist Church....

I was raised in the IFB movement, and I stayed there until 2000. I even went to three different IFB colleges....After many years of some things that didn't quite add up, my wife and I left the IFB (Big "I" independent) and became members of a Southern Baptist Church. Our friends in the IFB...

Thank you, everyone, for the great welcome to CF! I hope to be able to interact with many of you and to be an encouragement and example of Christ in all I do! Blessings.

    New Here

LOL! I'm used to pile-ons! Some of the forums I've been on over the years have been a free-for-all! Still love the contact with people, though, saved or unsaved. I have several brothers who are atheists, sadly. All one can do is continue to be a testimony and pray for their enlightenment.

    New Here

Yes, I did! :) I was actually made aware of that nearly 50 years ago when I delivered newspapers, and a German customer told me. It was then that we found out that my surname was actually from Germany and not from Greece as many of my elders believed it was.

    New Here

Thank you, David. I'm thankful that there are some Christian forums still around these days. :) They're getting harder and harder to find.
