  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Before Jesus died, did he know he would rise from the dead?

I am well aware of the LORD's appointed feasts explained in Leviticus. According to the gospel of John, Jesus was not crucified the first day of Passover. Well, maybe I'm a little confused. On what day do you think Jesus was crucified? John 19:14 says, "Now it was the day of preparation for...

The reason I will never be a Christian

At least you admit that the bible is not a good source for answers since you say we would have to go directly to the Most High to get answers. Wouldn't you think all the answers would be provided in His "infallible" inspired word? And wasn't the Judgement Day supposed to have already come...

The reason I will never be a Christian

This is great! You believe that the Most Hight doesn't owe us proof of His existence and then you are going to praise Him for punishing people because they don't have enough proof for His existence. Spoken like a true Christian! Well, there you go again. You're teetering. I can tell...

The reason I will never be a Christian

This implies that you have more than one God. I believe as a Christian you are only supposed to have one God. Joey downunder made some great points in this thread to show that you are well on your way to hell. I tend to side with the overwhelming majority of geneticists, biochemists...

The reason I will never be a Christian

Why are you doing this to yourself. You are harming your reputation and making yourself look foolish. You had plenty of time to re-read my posts and now I can only conclude that you have broken the 9th commandment. However, I will "answer a fool according to (her) folly lest (she) be wise...

The reason I will never be a Christian

You have got to be kidding me. I am in the middle of listening to all the logical falacies in this ridiculus MP3 link you gave me that misrepresents Bart Ehrman and you don't even know what a textual variant is. Did you even listen to this MP3 that you gave me? Ok, the "endnotes" start off...

Before Jesus died, did he know he would rise from the dead?

Hey Tom zzyzx, that was a fun game of chess. You can have all the pawns you want but it's the checkmate that counts. Next time you might want to accept my advice and read your bible before you make yourself look foolish. Now when you walk out of a Calvary Chapel service hearing, "the bible is...

The reason I will never be a Christian

Thanks for the link. I love homework. This link did not help with answering my question but I did learn of one more textual variant. The end notes mentions that in some western Greek manuscripts the decree in Acts 15 contains only three ethical admonitions. That is to avoid idolatry, blood...

The reason I will never be a Christian

First I have to apologize for my last compliment. When I say, "good biblical arguments", you must think of that as an insult. As a Christian apologist that is probably the worst thing you want to hear from a "mind-blinded" individual. It probably makes you want to rethink your position if a...

The reason I will never be a Christian

Yes, recent education standards must be bad when you encourage me to read all these verses to gain an understanding but then you contradict yourself and say I can't understand because my mind is blinded by "the god of this world". That doesn't make any sense. Actually, I do appreciate all...

The reason I will never be a Christian

It's funny, I have heard the sentence, "My Gospel is the one that the bible teaches" spewed out of the mouth of many Christians. However, it only takes me a few minutes to get these Christians to disagree with one another on the doctrine of salvation. Romans 10 is waaay to vague. Mormon's and...

Before Jesus died, did he know he would rise from the dead?

In your post #13 you said that Friday is the "preperation day". Now your saying it is a sabbath. I guess with your logic it can be both. That's a good Bible trivia question for someone: Where in the Bible can one day be a day of preparation and a sabbath at the same time. Answer: No one...

Before Jesus died, did he know he would rise from the dead?

You misunderstood me. I meant Friday can't be "preparation day" in your view. John 19:31 specifically says that Jesus died on the day of preparation. John's view is contradictory with your view. In your post #13 you state that the following day after the crucifixion is a preparation day...

The reason I will never be a Christian

That's OK Joey Downunder. I understand that you don't want to give me your gospel because you know deep down in your heart that the doctrine of salvation is unclear and the Holy Spirit is a horrible communicator. I also understand why you wouldn't answer my last question. I know I put you in...

Before Jesus died, did he know he would rise from the dead?

Here we go again. You ready? This is actually an easy one. I got to hand it to you though...you are persistent. Friday cannot be "preparation day" because John says that the day after the crucifixion was a Sabbath and the day of crucifixion was a preparation day. John 19:31 says, "Then the...
