Who is right? I want luxury brands, my husband wants quality

Read 'The Millionaire Next Door" for a sobering perspective on the disconnect you have with your husband. It's not a biblical book, but it does illustrate the behavior patterns of people who amass financial resources as opposed to people who amass astounding debt.

90 Day Fiancé is pure evil on TV

LEGAL FACT: The FCC only has authority over BROADCAST TELEVISION. that is, tv programing played over the public airwaves. The FCC has NEVER had any authority to regulate Cable television programming (or streaming programing) unless that programing is also broadcast somewhere in the USA. Just...

    Star Wars: Andor Season 2

Until I got to the end of your post and saw it was a Mon Mothma quote i was torn, asking myself, "Is this a quote? Or a comment on the USA in 2025" THAT RIGHT THERE is why Andor is such a great story for our time.

    Am I a hypocrite?

I think Paul gives us a good perspective on questions like this when he says (and I paraphrase) "If it separates you from God, it is a sin to you". But don't judge others for things that don't hinder their relationship with God. It's not any of our place to do that. Take care of your...

I don't like the boys tv show

Interesting. For my part, I find the Marvel Superhero movies to be more 'anti-Christian' than 'The Boys'. Marvel promotes a humanistic 'dream' if you will, about how a person could make the world better if they were just super powered. "The Boys" on the other hand, paints the dark but truthful...

How to make a Double Feature Movie

I don't think any director ever set out to intentionally make a 'double feature'. OTOH they love to make sequels. Double features are 100% the results of the marketing branches of studios, and later, the distributers of DVDs and BluRays Paring movies together to try to build a bigger audience...

    Star Wars: Andor....about Ferrix

From the wiki: During the Imperial Era, Ferrix was controlled by the Galactic Empire and overseen by the Consolidated Holdings of Preox-Morlana Corporation. However, this status was revoked following investigations of rebel activity. This eventually led to the Rix Road riot that saw the...

Star trek fan drifting towards Star Wars

Interesting. I feel several of the new 'star trek' offerings fit better in the star wars universe.. Gene's original vision for Star Trek came at a time when most mainstream sci fi was dark, foreboding, and frankly quite bleak in its outlook on humanity. Star Trek was a very intentional attempt...

    Looking for Christian short screenplays

There are a lot of really good faith based screenplays on the 168film dot com web site. Look under write of passage for winners of their writing contest. You can option one of these scripts from them and then produce it for their anual festival. Ive had very good experiences working with this fest.

preparing a script to present at a festival

Absolutely there is a very strict format you are expected to abide by. It is easy to find samples online. There are also form books out there that answer evey concievable question. Most festivl Als these days prefer pdf submissions over physical ones. Any good screenwriting software can export...

I'm not ashamed, most offensive Christian movie?

I saw the film at a sneak peak. I liked the film. I hated the Trailer, the marketing of the film in general, and the changes Pure Flix demanded be made to satisfy their misguided understanding of what a christian audience wants. This is a reasonably good film that was mismanaged by idiots. This...

    Nudists and Christianity.

Thanks for participating in this thread. I found exactly what I expected to find, but there were some real gems and insights along the way. (not trying to close down discussion here, just saying that I found what I expected to find.) Thanks to all, even to those I whistle down the wind.

    Nudists and Christianity.

The idea that nudity causes lust is laughable. Quite the opposite is true. Hiding the body behind clothing and asking us to imagine what is there is what feeds lust. When the naked body is normalized, and seen routinely, there is much less room for lust to take root.

Well, I'm just gobsmacked. Who knew?

I agree with Maren. The writing is slanted to say the least. Another important difference between federal employees and those working for state and local governments is how their pensions are paid. Once a federal employee retires, their pensions do NOT come out of the federal tax payer coffers...

I just hate when this happens...

Seriously! this has happened to me twice from the SAME film maker. I wrote a script in college about a town taken over by commies... then Kevin Reynolds writes "Red Dawn". then I wrote a script about two of the roman centurions that saw the resurrection and Kevin Reynolds makes "Risen". Now I...
