  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Do you get resentful?

Thank you all for sharing your pain. I know I've often felt awkward around my friends who have miscarried, not knowing what to say, afraid that whatever I would say would make things worse. It wasn't until I read a forum like this that I realized that just letting them know I loved and cared...

Let us join in prayer for those who are remembering their babies today!

New Creation and Woman at the Well, Belated prayers and hugs for your memorial. I am so warmed by your joy at memorializing your children, and seeing them with their Father in heaven. May God continue to bless you in your healing. In Christ, Amy Luke 7:36-50

    Prayer

The prayerful, Christian reception on this site is nothing less than amazing. So many women suffer for years feeling that there is no one to turn to because surely they would be condemned by those who are heartfeltedly pro life. This is a deception which the enemy propogates to prolong our...

something i need to deal with

Gina, I think moms know when they lose a little one so early. That connection, barely acknowledged in life, can often be best felt when it is lost. You have every right to mourn, name and pray to your first child. Of course, the longer it goes, the more tangible the loss is, and Born again...

A different kind of pregnancy loss...

Oh Shannon, My heart is with you. I never thought of this kind of anquish of giving your children another chance at life. Of course, you know you do have a chance to influence them, in your prayers, and in your witness as a Christian to those around you. You never know when the person...

He would be 18 now if I'd let him live

God bless you too! I love the picture on your post. That is so close to how I imagine myself with Christ. Sitting at His feet. Seeing the love in His eyes that I thought I had forfeited with my actions. Just being able to read in His eyes "yes, I died for you, too" Him pulling me up...

He would be 18 now if I'd let him live

New Creation, I'll be praying for you and your friend on 5/30. May you be richly blessed in this. Someone mentioned Forgiven and Set Free bible study. I've heard this is a wonderful study as well. I believe it is good to have a plan (the study, a retreat, friends online in this...

Not a abortion and Not a miscarriage But a Stillborn Full Term Baby

Thank you so much for sharing your story. Such a tragedy, but so wonderful to see the faith which you and your family have had throughout it. It is a tremendous consolation to know your son is with the Lord, and all those family and friends who preceded him there. From your story, it...

    Letters to......

New Creation, Thanks so much for sharing your letter. It is so amazing that Christ would forgive us this sin, and even more amazing that He would have our children reveal themselves to us in this way. You are right, at Rachel's Vineyard we write letters to our children and then at the...

Corpse "Art" Display Raises Ethical Questions

Thanks for the link. I can see the beauty in it but I'm still bothered by the disrespect to the deceased. I think this would bother me even more, because it takes it from informational/scientific to more entertainment/art.

Condom Use In Case of Disease

Are you sure about that? This is quite at odds with the information I've seen before. I've seen numbers like 15% or more of married couples WILL get aids from an infected partner even with 100% condom usage. I'll try to find the reference. I'd agree, you don't automatically get aids, but...

    Texas Bans Suggestive Cheerleading Moves

Hmm. How do you feel about, say, school prayer? Should the government have banned that? Based on your reasoning here, we should be allowed to pray at school functions and if peole dont like it they should stop going. If attendence gets too small, the prayer will be stopped by the school...

Corpse "Art" Display Raises Ethical Questions

<snort> I do think it is disrespectful to the human body to slice it up and put it on display. Even more questionable is allowing grade school kids to the exhibit.
