  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What is your favorite version of the Bible, and why?

I will keep that in mind. I wonder why people would use a text that is dated so late?

What is your favorite version of the Bible, and why?

I can't wait to be able to study in the original language, as soon as I get to my Greek and Hebrew classes I will be able to.

What is your favorite version of the Bible, and why?

Exactly as the title says. What is your favorite version of the Bible, and why? What are the pro's and con's of that version compared to some others?

What do you think about Pentecostals?

There are a few things that I did not agree with, nothing major. The first thing was their doctrine of Salvation, I personally believe in predestination. They believe in free will. They also teach that you can lose your salvation, I believe once saved always saved. The last thing, it seems the...

    Do you struggle with sin?

I said that the Bible is God's word, and everything in it. Idolizing is "to worship as a God." I am not idolizing the Bible, I do not worship the Bible. I woship God, the creator of the Heavens and the Earth. I know you are not going to agree with me theologically, and you don't have to.

    Do you struggle with sin?

You seem to be forgetting that I am coming from a Christian point of view. My original post was not directed towards you, if it were I would not have been referring to the Bible the whole time.

    Do you struggle with sin?

Here, let me rephrase this: If you don't think you sin, you are thinking to highly of yourself. Assuming we are Christians, I am including things that are considered sins in the Bible. Either you believe what the Bible says, or you don't. The Bible isn't a book where you pick and choose what...

    Are non-believers fools?

The non believer this verse is referring to, is probably someone that rejects God. There is a difference in someone who rejects God, and someone who has never heard of God or been witnessed to before. I think the verse is saying if you are a non-believer (rejecting God) that you are a fool.

    Do you struggle with sin?

Yes, everyone sins. If we didn't, then there would have been no need for Christ to die for our sins. If you think Holy enough of your self to where you don't think you sin, than you have some spiritual problems going on, and you need to get right with God. There is nothing that I wish I didn't...

What do you think about Pentecostals?

I finally made my decision to leave my A.O.G. church when we had an evangelist come in, and he was trying to tell everyone how to "speak in tounges." He said, "If you have never spoke in tongues, I want you to come down here in the front." So, a lot of people went down there. He told them...

What do you think about Pentecostals?

Very true, I try not to believe things just because it is what I am taught. Whenever there is something I have question about, I go to the Bible and seek out the answer. I think my original post came out a little harsher than I had intended. I agree, I don't see anything alarming, I am not...

    Overcoming Pornography

I was bound down by the chains of pornography for many years, I tried time after time again to stop, and I never succeeded. It wasn't until I realized that I had to let God help me with this situation, that I was truly able to be set free. It was not an easy process, but I can gladly say that...

    Speaking in Tongues Today

I personally believe that the gift of tongues has ceased, as it was said that one day they would (1 Cor 13:8). But the supposed "speaking in tongues" that the Pentecostals do today isn't even Biblical. That is one of the reasons I left the church that I had been going to for 15 years. I don't...

What do you think about Pentecostals?

I was raised in an Assembly Of God Church, I attended the same church for about 15 years. I never realized, until about 2 years ago, that many of the things that I was raised to believe were wrong and out of context. Mainly what they teach about "speaking in tounges," and the way they teach...
