  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Debunking I Corinthians 6:9 as an arguement against homosexuality..

@ CSmrw I never once told you to do anything. I said "Please contribute..." not "Contribute or get out". If you want to be disrespectful to my topic and people who might want to respond, go right ahead. It only casts a bad shadow on you. It was only with the rise of Christianity did...

Debunking I Corinthians 6:9 as an arguement against homosexuality..

Good points. In response to Levitical laws, I'm one of those people who don't believe that Leviticus (or the Torah as a whole) is the inspired word of God, based on the fact that it was written over different portions of time. Whenever someone does quote Leviticus as an arguement against...

Debunking I Corinthians 6:9 as an arguement against homosexuality..

Some very well may believe me and care. Your generalizing a whole group of people. It has everything to do with the Bible. Do you think that people are just pulling these prejudices out of thin air? Why would they need an excuse? Why would they be against people who are bisexual or gay unless...

Debunking I Corinthians 6:9 as an arguement against homosexuality..

I forgot to put what would be a more accurate rendering of I Corinthians 6:9-10. "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the fornicators nor the idolators nor adulterers nor those who take up no cross nor male temple prostitutes nor...

Debunking I Corinthians 6:9 as an arguement against homosexuality..

I will first of all say that I am not doing this to disrespect Christians or the Bible, but merely to correct rampant mistranslations and miscontruincies that lead to biblically-funded discrimination against gays, lesbians, and bisexuals. Whether you choose to believe what I'll say is up to you...

Romantic kissing between 2 men/women - does the bible condemn it?

If Jonathan and David were allowed to kiss and retain the grace of Our Lord, then I don't see why two other men aren't allowed to.

    Christians and Pro-Choice

How can someone be Christian and pro-choice? Well, we can value a woman's right to bodily autonomy as well as hold the belief that women's uteruses are not the property of the government. We can look to the past and see that dangerous back-alley abortions were performed whenever safe, painless...

Recreational Drug Use... and the morality thereof

I said "generally", which I put there in case I wasn't thinking of a natural drug that is addictive. And nicotine (the addicting drug in tobacco products), while it occurs naturally in tobacco, is an additive to tobacco products as well, and the majority of the nicotine in tobacco is from the...

    Hi, I'm Eric.

In response to your question about indie music, it really has two meanings. Indie music in the sense that it is independent of major music labels, but still tours, produces records, etc., and indie rock and pop which is generally characterized as a genre by experimental and weird sounds, very...

Recreational Drug Use... and the morality thereof

I've never used drugs before and I don't think that it is good for one to use drugs like heroin, cocaine, and crystal meth, but marijuana, salvia, and other natural drugs, especially if consumed orally, are less dangerous from a medical point of view. They are more benign than alcohol. As for...

    Young women need more Pro-choice.

Flicka already said it, but it's very possible for women to retain those choices without having their uteruses turned partially into the property of the government.

MOVED FROM NCE: Court Overturns Arkansas Ban on Same-Sex Foster Parents

Oh, wow. I had no idea that it was turned over, and I live in this state! That's very nice news to hear that there will be fewer kids in the world who have to deal with the pain of living in an orphanage their whole lives.

    Hi, I'm Eric.

I am 14, 15 on November 6. I live in Arkansas, much to my dismay. I am a freshman. I am a very open-minded and liberal person, but I'm not one of those psycho liberals that think that the filthy Republicans are trying to cling to the 15th century. I think I'm a pretty intelligent person. I'm...
