  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Where Can We Come To Agreement?

I would love to see the number of abortions that actually happen reduced, but not by removing or in any way limiting a woman's ability to choose what she will when such a situation arises. Instead, I would attempt to influence the decision by making the concept of carrying and raising a child...

    Justify the Biblical Canon

    Justify the Biblical Canon

Can you please move this to another forum, then? Because if others who are more knowledgeable than myself have something to contribute I'd really like to see it. I changed my status to Christian so if you could put it in scripture discussion that'd be just peachy.

    Justify the Biblical Canon

Well, thank you for being the person who finally gave me a coherent answer to my question. I may not agree with the premise but at least I have a better idea of where people limiting themselves to the traditional canon are coming from.

    Justify the Biblical Canon

I suppose that I'd like to know what the distinction is, then, and how it is that this choice is made. I understand the idea that God presents us with whatever information we require, which is partially a justification of the value of whatever bible you've got, but God made the rest of the world...

What does a prophet speak if not the word of God?

    Justify the Biblical Canon

Hahaha you are very presumptuous, ephraimanesti. I'm not a 'non-Christian'.

    Justify the Biblical Canon

So why does Jude call Enoch a prophet and then quote it?

    Justify the Biblical Canon

To begin, I'd like to make it clear that I have no intention of initiating a discussion of the accuracy of the information in the Biblical canon. What I suggest is that if we take all information within any translation of the traditional books of the bible for granted, there are necessarily...
