  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Did scientists teach the earth was flat?

You're a daft man aren't you, just WHERE do you think such ruling elite got their assumed knowledge and authority from in the first place? "Eppur si muove"

Did scientists teach the earth was flat?

Of course, that last refuge of one who has lost he argument, complaints about nominal spelling errors. Pathetic. Stop, stop the world, a spelling error, oh my! AV, had you not been all caught up in the insertion of a letter you might had noticed the whole persecution itch the Church was...

    New bird-dinosaur transitional form found

Actually, there is. It's known as the taxonomic classification system, this is how species are organized according to overall morphology, and what do you know, a species like Archeopteryx just happens to bridge the gap between such groups as dinosaurs and birds...

    New bird-dinosaur transitional form found

The topic, if you recall, was 'X Dinosaur had feathers', thus it was on the same ancestral branch as Archeopteryx which lead to early primitive birds, no where was 'pre-biotic soup' or origins of life ever mentioned. This article has to deal with dinosaur to bird evolution and the evidence...

    New bird-dinosaur transitional form found

But here's the problem Dad, we can't assume it came from a bird or birds as its appearance according to taxonomic classification in the fossil record precedes all primitive and modern birds but doesn't precede dinosaurs, and specifically those of the theropod type. Ergo, it couldn't have come...

Did scientists teach the earth was flat?

Are you saying Hitler and the Nazi's didn't wear belt buckles inscribed with 'got mit uhns' (God with us) on them? Are you saying he never openly decried his actions as being in line with a, shall we say, high power? Are you saying the Catholic and Protestant churches had nothing to do with...

Did scientists teach the earth was flat?

From whence did the Church get its self assumed defacto infallible and unassailable authority but from the Bible? This would be like asking why oh why the Church persecuted and killed 'witches'? Well, if one reads the thing it becomes obvious, it's an emphatic requirement per God, and many...

World's oldest temple found in Turkey

Rhetorical question? How about the organic material they are dating didn't exist till relativley recently (some 60,000 years) in the first place. Carbon dating, and other dating methods, date the decaying isotopes of the given element, not the atoms.

Did scientists teach the earth was flat?

[/LIST] Not all scientists did though, some showed evidence for its spherical nature. At the time to question the bible usually led to one being burnt at the stake. But AV, you have to admit, that during the middle ages and Dark Ages 'science' as a field hardly existed in Europe. Many...

    Unlocking the Mystery of Life

Mark, these works are a little dated, but still are worthy of discussion as like the 2nd Law, some futile talking points seem to never die. The irony of the title 'Unlocking the Mystery of Life' is that in end they explained nothing. Fine, lets just hypothetically say a designer done it, but...

Answering Questions on Creation and Creationism

It sure does, she's asking for you to define in a quantifiable way, what 'information' means, so far, nada from you. Until you get to a mutual agreement on that by defining your stance on 'information', discussing issues of either natural processes as origins becomes pointless. Wellll, it...

    Taking Questions on the Creation

Yeah it is, as noted in the vid, it's not even technically a positive theorem, nor is it even a valid hypothesis as he uses 2 mutually exclusive models, both of which contradict each other from the onset. Like, examples? According to the no way flood, this flood was the first appearance of...

    Taking Questions on the Creation

Ok, now you're way off the deep end. 1) You're proposing that in some 6000 years ago some animals were so radically different as to be unidentifiable now, and yet this is the same bible which remarks on which fowl can and can't be eaten and by today's name no less and how shellfish are unclean...

    Taking Questions on the Creation

But don't let that logic sway you from thinking that indeed bats are birds, or showing striped patterns makes a striped animals, or that swine are demonic, or that...well you get the point.

    Taking Questions on the Creation

You agree with science were it suits you and your position and no more, only when it is critical of a literalist view do you switch, which means you're not opposed to the methodology, just the conclusions on *some* particular facts of *some* sciences. And for what, to believe that the universe...
