  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Please explain CCC 536 regarding Jesus and the Spirit: 'possessed in fullness' yet 'comes to rest on him'.

Of course there is no 'need' for the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception; it's merely a statement of fact, as you yourself share 'she did not commit any sins'. The Pope did not "recognize" that dogma as if it was new to the Church: He merely clarified that this dogma exists and is true for...

How do I stop doubting? (in prayer, or regarding the Gospel)

Respectfully, it may not be prudent to assume as truth the maxims of one who rejects Jesus as Messiah. It's also important to define 'faith' and 'doubt' so we can be clear and come to agreement on the same things.

How do I stop doubting? (in prayer, or regarding the Gospel)

I wonder if you would have me leave the Catholic Church for an 'Assemblies of God' or 'Pentacostal' Protestant community. My study of history indicates Jesus established the Catholic/Orthodox Church, though sadly and frustratingly He has not made clear to me whether we should be 'Roman Catholic'...

How do I stop doubting? (in prayer, or regarding the Gospel)

You remind me of Gary Habermas, who has said he was in my situation and studied for years and years until he realized there was something I think he calls "emotional doubt" (though maybe he calls it 'volitional doubt'). I've forgotten his statements; maybe it was that suffering causes doubt...

How do I stop doubting? (in prayer, or regarding the Gospel)

I've studied for decades, and read all of the Bible multiple times, continue reading the Bible daily, and now I'm praying in accordance with Mark 11:24, Jesus telling us to 'believe that you have already received it'. Yet though I will to do this, thoughts occur in my brain involuntarily such...

AI and I stumbled on something huge that could change the world in the next few years

Given the environmental harm and substantial suffering of beast and human occurring from energy needs and fossil fuels, you have a moral obligation to get this product to market, if not open-source it for immediate production worldwide, rather than sit on it and set it aside for later. If you...

AI and I stumbled on something huge that could change the world in the next few years

I share the same interests, so I'm very curious to learn more. I am wondering if there is some detail you haven't considered, such as how harnessing the energy might result in "trying to pull yourself up by your bootstraps" if the engine has to be held stationary for work to occur, for example.

Please explain CCC 536 regarding Jesus and the Spirit: 'possessed in fullness' yet 'comes to rest on him'.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church says What does it mean for the Spirit 'to rest on him'? Why wasn't He already doing so? What does it mean for Jesus to possess the Spirit? What does it mean to do so 'in fullness'? Doesn't this imply one can do so partially? Does anyone possess the Spirit...

    Why Are You in Despair?

It seems this does not reduce the suffering, but merely adds a kind of tether rope so you continue in the storm rather than be washed away by it.

If God Is Love, Why Does He Let Terrible Things Happen?

Are you saying you had a vision of your father after his death in which he was telling you he was predestined to hell, and that you believe this vision was real and factual and your father is now in hell? Why not believe instead it was either hallucination, dream, or demon pretending to be your...

What glue should I use to re-attach the corpus to the crucifix?

How do I remove the old glue? Doesn't "rough up the metal" mean damaging it? Why is that necessary?

What glue should I use to re-attach the corpus to the crucifix?

Would you please tell me what glue I should use to reattach this corpus to this crucifix? (See photo.) Could you link me to the product from Amazon.com? Could you tell me what materials these appear to be? (Is it olive wood and stainless steel?)
