  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I disagree with your number. I have not seen any evidence that supports your assertion. You have not provided any evidence that supports your number.

    Burden of Proof

But just because they may or may not have had faith in a God or followed some kind of religion doesn't mean America was founded on it. The nation itself was not founded on Judeo-Christian principles. I can say that quite confidently, as you have said yourself, the constitution promotes...

    Burden of Proof

Is there a specific group of people? I'm not sure on that. Philosophers for one, anyone who follows the scientific method. Furthermore, this method leads to rationality, so dare I say anyone who is rational would have to be in consensus with this method. It's not about what makes "proper"...

    Burden of Proof

I propose that Dieselman actually watch the video and attempt to understand what it is saying. Many of the issues that Davian brought up in his reply to you are actually covered in the video, with explanations why not to do it. You seem to be the epitomy of someone who misuses the burden of...

    question for geology

I sincerely apologise in that case. My assumption was wrong. This clearly demonstrates that I am not very knowledgeable on some scientific matters which is in fact quite embarrassing. I hope someone can answer your question for you.

    Burden of Proof

Two points I will make: 1) I actually live in Australia, there are other countries outside of America 2) America was not founded on faith in God You can confirm this for yourself. Have you ever read the constitution? No where in the constitution is there a mention of the Christian God...

    Burden of Proof

I apologise if I wasn't clear of the group I was referring to when I used the word "we". I was referring to the human race; all human beings, including you. It doesn't mean you or everyone in that group specifically weeded out things that weren't true, but rather that it has given every human...

    question for geology

"I do not know much about geology but this looks to me like a lot of organic lime covered by a layer from the great oxygen event." The great oxygen event? You're a Christian. I know from previous experience that you have objections to parts of main stream science, and if my memory serves me...

    question for geology

Furthermore, if this cliff was the result of some global flood, or even a large localised flood, wouldn't you expect the heavier element(the red clay) to sink to the bottom and the lighter element(the white sand) rise to the top? Odd how we don't see that.

    The Craziest Thing You've Heard

I'm pretty sure servants are essentially slaves. They are bought and sold, they are not payed any money for their service and are held against their will. The main difference is that slaves are kept indefinitely, whilst servants are only kept for a certain duration of time.

    Burden of Proof

This video is specifically concentrated on when people use a God or make another unsubstantiated claim in an argument. Specifically a proper philosophical argument which seeks to determine the truth. So when the person in the video says "You are obligated to do this", he means within an...

    Burden of Proof

I don't mind if you're content with faith. But in that case, don't go around trying to make everyone believe in what you believe based on "faith", and try to change public and government policies/laws because of something you believe on "faith". As long as the claim as one in the realm of...

    "Zero" is gravity. Discuss.

I just don't understand what your point is. ""Zero" is gravity" So what? Is there a point to what you are saying? I want to understand but at the moment I just don't.

    "Zero" is gravity. Discuss.

I don't think "zero" is an example of gravity. You will have to convince me why it is. Gravity is a label we have given to a phenomenon of objects being attracted to other objects, with the attraction following an inverse square proportionality. Upon observation, many theories have been...
