  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Wife's duties to her husband

The love honor and obey applies to both partners, not just the woman. I believe the vow is said by both at the ceremony and is made to God as well as each other.

Roman Catholic scholars such as Professor Fitzmyer

If this is not a clear admission that scripture and what it really teaches, has no part in the RCC, then nothing is. Roman Catholic scholars such as Professor Fitzmyer have been given the freedom to explore what Scripture teaches. http://mbrem.com/bible/traditn.htm The date of this article...

    If Mary was sinless?

I always wondered what kind of heaven it is for those who are up there looking down onto the misery of family and children and nations, being unable to make things perfect for them. Imagine them going to Christ in my behalf and asking for goodies for me and Jesus saying 'no'. Mary is asked to...

    What are the penalties?

This is a quote that clearly carries an intent. It does not require a whole book to show it. Please answer the question based on the context of the quote.

    What are the penalties?

You need to prove intent. There is so much material available that raises questions. When, where, how, why? And mostly WHY. Why would your church say this particular thing? Is being Catholic compulsory? If you have a question the answer to which is of great interest to you, do you ask...

A New Thing Under The Sun -- "...there is no new thing under the sun."

I don't see how this applies to technology. However, Elijah did ride to heaven in a firy chariot. That counts to me!

    How's that?

So, in essence it is breath/spirit/nephesh, that makes us a living soul. God breathed the breath of life into the nostrils of the created man. And he became a living soul. A man, not a lower life form, an animal. It's settled for me anyways. Christians should believe what scripture says...

    What are the penalties?

The ending of a Bull Ineffabilis Deus, Pope Pius IX “Therefore, if some should presume to think in their hearts otherwise than we have defined (which God forbid), they shall know and thoroughly understand that they are by their own judgment condemned, have made...

    How's that?

Check out the meaning of soul, and the applied meaning. Exegesis vs. eisegesis. Reading out of scripture vs. reading into scripture. The latter has the greater practice.

    How's that?

Nephesh comes from the root naphash, a verb occurring only three times in the Old Testament (Ex. 23:12; 31:17; 2 Sam. 16:14), each time meaning "to revive oneself" or "to refresh oneself." The verb goes back to the basic meaning of breathing. So, you are correct. My dog breathes, etc. Without...
