  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The church of my youth had a split

The church of my youth had a split

By the way, "sin not", "does not sin", "can not sin" "should not sin" are all bearing different meanings & are directives. And to "not sin" meaning "being sinless" is not a reality according to John's letters to believers. Context helps.

The church of my youth had a split

In 1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." Likewise 1 John 2 starts:" My dear children (believers) I write this to you that you will...

The church of my youth had a split

Hi, We are AC believers with deep roots in the Hungarian AC church. Our journey and immigration took us out of there into the sister church that has been split off in 1906. From this church we were "tossed out" for speaking up against the leadership and we landed in a Mennonite christian...
